My best friend has REALLY bad teeth, most have already rotted out. The ones that are left are no more than little stubs. I keep trying to get her to go to the dentist to get something done but she claims cost and embarrassment is holding her back. Can't bad teeth lead to other health problems? What can be done to fix her teeth now that they are in this condition?

I woke up this morning with a metallic taste in my mouth, it's lasted all day, and I can't get rid of it.

I had a wisdom tooth removed on May 9th. In the past two days, I've noticed a black scab forming on top of my gum. It feels itchy. Will it come off on its own? How long will it take? Is it normal?

Any good dentist who can remove mercury fillings? Any side effects with mercury fillings (i.e. leaking, dangers of mercury vapours)?

If dentists and other people recommend using a soft bristle toothbrush instead of the medium and hard because they can ruin your gums. Why are they selling the medium and hard ones in the first place?

My brother desperately needs all his teeth removed. We have called the dental school and the VA. No one seems to be able to help. I cannot afford to have them removed and he doesn't have a job or a place to live except with us. The health department and DFCS cannot help.

I know it probably sounds stupid, but me, my brother and my sister NEVER flossed when we were kids, and yet none of us ever had any cavities. My brother and sister still don't have any now and they still never floss.

How many parents actually do floss their kids teeth? I've done a lot of babysitting etc, and none of the kids I've ever come across floss either and they don't have fillings.

I just wrote another question about being scared of going to the dentist incase I need lots of fillings because I haven't been since I was 15 and I'm now 24.

I've always brushed my teeth every day, but I never flossed until a few months ago........is that really bad? Will I have cavities between all my teeth now? I really don't want to be told off by the dentist for having lts of cavities, and I'm really scared about getting fillings.

I am 63 years old and brush my teeth two or three times aday.Is this too much? A guy told me too much brushing will take the enamel off your teeth and wear out your gums.Is he a jerk or not?

When I open my mouth after doing this, it feels as if there is a cord binding my lower jaw to the top jaw... it comes loose, but only after some slight pain. Is this exceptionally serious?

I'm 24 years old and I haven't been to the dentist since I was about 15. I've never had any problems with my teeth in the past, I never needed any fillings or anything when I was younger. The only thing I needed was three teeth extracted before I got braces.

Anyway, I know I really need to go to the dentist for a checkup because I haven't been in so long, but I'm too scared to go. Obviously, I'm not registered with one, so I'll have to find one privately since nowhere is registering NHS patients.

But I'm absolutely terrified. I'm really scared that I'll need loads of fillings because I haven't been for so long. And I can't really afford it if I DO need work done. I'm just so scared of the thought of being told I need fillings, and having the dentist drilling my teeth.

How can I get over my fear of going? Because I know I really have to go, but I don't want to!!!!

I got two silver fillings in my teeth on Monday and they're still really sensitive when I eat. When will the pain go away? I thought the whole point of getting the fillings was to STOP my teeth hurting! They are both quite big fillings, will that take longer for my teeth to feel better?

I need Dental Work done and am considering a student to use me as a patient. Where is a dental school that will provide this service to me for free or at a minimal charge?
