A question about tooth brushes.....?

If dentists and other people recommend using a soft bristle toothbrush instead of the medium and hard because they can ruin your gums. Why are they selling the medium and hard ones in the first place?

Because people buy them. Plain and simple.
The only time you should use a medium or hard brush is to clean tile grout. :)
Soft toothbrushes are definitely the best for you teeth and gums, but, like I said... people still buy the hard and medium ones. I've heard people say they feel like they get a cleaner mouth... or, they're hard brushers and the destroy the soft brushes too quickly.
Think of it this way.... cigarettes are proven to kill people. But, they still sell them...

Because people still want to buy them and if a company is going to make money selling them then they will just keep on making them even though they are no good for you teeth or gums.

Here is another query.. why was it a dentist that first put sugar in chewing gum.. and how come they say to never put metal near your teeth.. yet the first thing they do is scrape your teeth with metal instruments..

first of all dental instruments... most of them are stainless steel and titanium NOT JUST METAL and most dentist do not sell their tooth brushes they give them to you @ your cleaning now stores do sell them. there are alot of things sold in the stores and pharmacies that are not good for you but they are making money so they sell them. but dentists' reccomend soft bristle

I got no answer for ya. It's one of those **** for brains situations that exist all around us. Like "regular" or "extra strength" Tylenol/Pepto/etc. No, I do NOT want to get rid of my headache or runs right NOW, I'd rather wait a bit, so give me the regular. Right.
