I've been to the emergency dentist today cos I had a bad toothache on the top and he pulled it out cos it was really rotten. My teeth are in pretty bad shape in general, I need loads of work done, fillings and stuff, but I can't afford it. I've got one other really bad tooth on the bottom that gives me toothache every now and again, I asked the dentist if he would pull it out too but he wants to do a root canal on it. I told him I couldn't afford it and he said if he pulled it out I'd have to get a fake tooth and that would be more expensive.

How come he pulled out the one today and I don't need a fake tooth but I would if he pulled out the other one? And would I really need a fake tooth or is he just trying to make more money? I really can't afford a root canal just now but the tooth hurts a lot.

I recently had my wisdom teeth pulled and would like to know is there any method besides ice that will help reduce the swelling quick and easy in about a day or so.

anyone been cheated at a dentist? i have been done so twice in the past 2 yrs and i feel upset knowing they can do that to patients. i had a checkup that included a scale and polish (to make you teeth look clean and white) but i never had it done which i later found out by talking to my mum. it was a 1.5 min check up for £15.50 and i feel upset how they can do this to me. the receptionist said i dint need it but how does she know the *****. it seems as though thhey're making money from us NHS paying patients. i complained and said i want a scale and polish and i wont pay for it as ive paid for it before. but they refused. my teeth are bad and bet anyone just looking at them can say they are. how do i complain and if i do, are they going to take it serious or is the manager corrupt too. if so who do i tell, my local MP or councillor? any ideas or suggestions? thanx

I got my wisdom teeth out recently and they put in those dissolving stitches. I keep getting this weird taste in my mouth, it's a chemical-ish taste and it's back immediatly even after I brush my teeth. The only thing I could think was that maybe it was the stitches. Does anyone know from experience or whatever if they give off a weird taste when they dissolve?

I am so scared that I found out that my wisdom teeth are going to be removed immediately after the dentist just saw my x-ray. I am only 15 turning 16 next month. Am I too young to have them removed? Please share your experience with me so that I can feel better and I hope there is someone to share anxiety with me. I was so freaky scared that I panicked ever since!

I was at the dentist this morning and I had to get 3 fillings, my mouth feels really weird now!!! But anyway, he said that I have a few teeth with very small cavities in them but they're not worth filling yet unless they get worse, he thinks probably a year from now they'll need fillings.

First of all, if he thinks they're just going to get worse, why can't he just fill them now while they're really small and then they won't hurt?

And since he dosn't want to fill them just now, is there any way I can stop them getting worse so that they won't actually need fillings? I already brush my teeth twice a day.

My 2 front teeth are not straight and I am very self conscience about it and instead of getting braces, I would like to get fake teeth(would they actually take my real teeth out and put fake ones in or a cover on the real ones to make them appear straight) How would I go about asking my dentist?

I have heard (kind of a consipracy theory) that there is somethinf developed in the world that stops people from ever getting cavaties etc....But it has been kept Hush Hush asalot of companies would lose money on all the products out there that are sold (toothpastes, mouthwashes etc..) so it has never been made available for the public. These companies all stand to lose too much and there would be less need for dentists and they would all lose money too.
Like the lightbulb in that fire station that has been burning for over 100 years....they won't sell them as then no-one would ever need to buy a light bulb again....(that is 100% fact, you can view the fire station on the net as they have a camera hookedup that shows it all the time and people can place bets on when they think it will go out - but it never has!)

Has anyone ever heard of this thing for dental/teeth?
I know it may just be a myth, but it was told to me by someone in the industry,so I believe what they say to be true.
