NHS direct can give you the phone numbers of other dentists locally for you to try, you dont have to register now just phone up and see if you can get an appointment, however there is a real shortage. NHS Direct can also give you either dental enquiry helpline number or Primary care trust number to complain to and ask for help.

NHS Direct in England is 08454647

the organisation below represents patients views. Your local health board should be able to provide you with a list(that might be name though) of dentists that are taking on nhs patients

It's useless right now... i had the same problem.... It's easy to blame the government but realistically the Tory government of the 1980's were the ones that firstly decimated the health service..

Part of the local health authority keeps an eye on dentists, they will tell you how to complain, or at least point you in the right direction.

Well I know Doctors have somewhere that you can report to, but not sure about dentists.

As far as I can see online, Citizens Advice Bureau would be able to point you in the right direction, sorry I can't be more help.
