Try hot compresses, and an anti inflamatory like Ibuprofen. You may need to see your Dentist for a TMJ problem. He can make you a splint if necessary.

Sounds like you have TMJ. I had this Tempro mandibular Jaw disorder. I had this problem.I think that they call this TMD went to a dentist and wore splints to realign the jaw to keep it from popping out of place. Didn't work too well, so they put me in braces to align the teeth better, I still have some problems but not the pain I used to have. There are allot of things I am sure they can do. Best thing you can do is not aggravate it by opening it just to see if it does it again. you only inflame the joint more. It may be a minor problem or a serious one. This can cause some serious pain. Best to have it checked to be sure . maybe the earlier you treat it the easier it is to fix. Good luck

feels like you might have built TMJ...you must move to a professional to peer if there is some thing you'll be able to do this would possibly not require surgical procedure. Perhaps braces would be an alternative to realign your jaws. I used to have the click/popping noise while I could open my mouth large or the very first thing within the morning while I yawned. this occurred for a well 15 years. I type of simply left it on my own. In the final 12 months, for a few intent or a different it has miraculously disappeared all on its possess. My dentist and my ortho stated that mostly in minor circumstances it might probably depart however extra mostly surgical procedure could must be performed to repair it. So I wager I used to be fortunate.

See your dentist. There may be a reason for this that you can handle with his/her help. One reason, and this is from seeing lots of people with the same problem, is you may be clenching your teeth and aggravating your jaw. I wear a splint (like a mouthguard)at night to prevent me from grinding on my teeth. Just a bad habit. I had the popping but now don't. I wear it faithfully every night.

My chiropractor helped mine. He adjusted my jaw. You should see if they have a mouth guard as well. Walmart has these too. It's caused mostly by gritting your teeth at night. Gritting or grinding will cause headaches too. It will probably come back unless you wear the device at night. Mine comes and goes.
