Dental - June 2006

I had a cavatie a few years ago and the dentist filled the cavatie plus other teeth on the top of the teeth with porcelan, saying that my teeth were too pretty for the black stuff (what is the black stuff, btw?).
Is this normal to use porcelan?

I plan to provide dental treatments to very poor people in a developing country. They could not afford to go to a dentist. Is there a way to fill a cavity without drilling etc.? Please note that some treatment is better than no treatment at all.

I have braces so brushing is not very effective anymore, and my gums are all swollen up. However, I floss (like the orthodontist told me to) and soak my mouth with peroxide (I heard it helps to get rid of bacteria), but my gums are still swollen.
Any advice?

Im fine with my teeth and i have NEVER had a problem with them. I have a really small over-bite and 2 of my bottom teeth are SLIGHTLY crooked. I dont care about it, no one ever has and im fine with them. I dont want braces because i have so many other problems and adding braces is going to make it more complicated. I told her this and she ignores me! I DONT WANT BRACES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my wisdom teeth out last week, and was supposed to have my stitches removed today, but the office was closed due to an unforseeable circumstance. So, now I have to wait until Monday to call and make another appointment. My regular dentist is closed, and my regular dr. is on vacation. Will it cause any problems for them to be in for an extra few days? Are there any precautions I should be taking?

i was @ my dentist 2day to have 1 tooth pull.the dentist told me she can do it in the office.after 1 hr of her struglling with my tooth and i was scared the whole time,she has to numb me 3 times in 1 hr.then she told me she only pull half out + i have to be sent to an oral surgeon to have it completely pull out.i was in so much pain all these time while i wait for the surgeon to see me and pull my tooth. it tooth 4 hrs to have my tooth pull.can i sued the practise for negligence(since she shouldn't have done the surgery),or sent me asap when she realized that something was wrong instead of struggling with my tooth.we all know what's it like to go to the dentist,the emotional trauma and physical pain is unbearable.please help

I had braces and retainer for 8 years from age 14 to 22. I wore headgear and later rubber bands. I think they made my upper jaw too small. It is at my far range of motion to close my teeth together and my jaw pops when I open it far. The only time I close my teeth completely together is when I am chewing. We can't afford TMJ treatment, since the insurance doesn't cover it.

Ok here is the deal...This past week I have started this new flossing routine. Since I have started the upper left side of my mouth has been killing me!! I know its not a cavity because I just went to the dentist about a month ago. I dont know if it is my gum or my tooth it is just the general area and it hurts!! Could I have flossed to hard? Any input is appreciated!

i brush twice a day or at least once but some parts are yellow and some parts are white, the doc says that its normal and many ppl have it like this with the whole proportional color disfringement.. but i want them all white, like they do in the commercials, also.. do those white strip things work?

Do your tongue ever get white stuff on it or looks irritated and red after you eat certain foods and drink sodas? My friend tongue is like that and he does not know what to do about it he is so self conscience about opening his mouth. I don't know what he should do about it anyone out there knows what it is? He says it burns sometimes if he eats the wrong foods or drink certain soft drinks.

After so long of dating and wonderign if you really wont to be with this person, their perosonality is great they are all-around good perosn but one thing is stopping you in being more attractive to them is their breath, how do you go about letting them no, that they have bad breath and you are unable to kiss them or make love to them because of that.
