Is the severe pain just right where they took the tooth out? If so, it could be a dry socket. I would definitely call your dentist since its been 2 months though. Clove oil can be a temporary help for the pain. You just put it on a qtip and apply it. You can usually ask your pharmacist for it or go to your local vitamin store.

It sounds like the socket is healing, as for the pain maybe you got something stuck in the gums by the socket that can be a tender area for a long time and if something is irritating it that could be your problem. I would go see your dentist and get it check out.

I recently read where someone was talking about having the same problem for several years. Then they had changed their diet and started eating thin sliced onions marinated in red wine vinegar a couple of times a week, and started adding fresh garlic to stews and soups every week. Their problem cleared up and has stayed gone.

This sounds funny until you realize that the onion, vinegar, and garlic are all anti-bacterial. In WWI and WWII doctor's in the field used garlic juice to treat wounds when no antibiotics were available. It worked. They knew to do this because it has been used for centuries.

You should consult your dentist immediately if you are having gum pain or bleeding gums. This could be a sign of a larger problem.
