Do your tongue ever get white stuff on it or looks irritated and red after you eat certain foods and drink sodas? My friend tongue is like that and he does not know what to do about it he is so self conscience about opening his mouth. I don't know what he should do about it anyone out there knows what it is? He says it burns sometimes if he eats the wrong foods or drink certain soft drinks.

I had a girl friend like that years ago. He'll have to watch his diet and talk to a doctor about what he can do to elieviate the symptoms. This is usually caused by small cracks or fissures in the tongue. Limit the amount of citric acid or anything with fruit juice in it. Also salty and spicy foods will cause irritation. He needs to see a doctor about treatment or he'll never be able to enjoy life fully.............

These are called canker sores and they happen when you are tired or stressed. You can try using a mouthwash twice a day but usually they will last a little more than a week. They come from a virus that lives in your body and flares up every now and then. Get some rest and be good to yourself.

Flareups usually happen with Herpes 1, not the bad one which is Herpes 2. It's from drinking out of a dirty glass or some other bacteria getting in. It should clear itself up, however we are all different so if it's a big concern, he should go to a Dr.

They are not canker sores. Canker sores are much more painful and take longer to heal. They are like little white pimples on your tongue. I know I have a couple right now, but they will be gone tomorrow. I was just wondering about them myself.
