Dental - June 2006

Been having headache off and on for a couple days mostly on te left side of my head, next to my temple.

Over the last two months, my wisdom teeth have been coming in. I only have two; one is fully in and in a reasonable position with space, the other is just emerging through the gums. Should I wait to see if they come in ok before getting them out? Is it more painful and difficult having them removed after they've surfaced, as opposed to digging them out from below the gum? I'd rather not have dental work done, but I'd like to be well informed.

Did you notice results? Did you have sensitivity/pain in teeth or gums?

And should I buy the regular or the premium?

What do they do if you have a abbcess under your crown. Theres only a small bit of tooth the post that they have cemented the crown on. How can they treat this or will I lose the crown?

I have TMJ and it is steadily getting worse. I can still eat and chew but it is starting to hurt alot more every day. Any advice on a particular Dentist to see or treatments to seek would be great!

I'm pretty sure I need a filling but I've never had one before (I'm 25) and I'm quite scared to be honest!

What's it like actually having a filling done, and how long does it take?

Afterwards, what's it like? How long does it take for the numbness to wear off and is it sore when it does? Does your tooth feel different afterwards?

i've had dental problems every since i can remember, several dentists have made mistakes in my mouth...and i started to hate them...and put off visiting them...and now my teeth are so bad[they're falling apart] i am ashamed of it...can anyone suggest anything that would make me fear them less...anything that would help...?

i didnt wear my retainer, i have the invaslign ones, i still have both the top and bottom ones but i just wanted to know if there is any way i could fix my bottom teeth without actually having to get braces agian. Like is there a device the ortho can give me to fix it?

Latley I have been getting ulcers on the tip of my tounge...I have a retainer that they scrap up against but I don't know why I keep getting them when I use to hardly ever get them.

I resently found out i have a cavity (i was looking in the mirror) and i am totally terrified of dentists. The drills they use give me the creeps. ...It's not a big cavity, just fairly small. Is there anything i can do at home to take care of it and avoid the dentist?

Hi, I've been suffering from bulimia for a couple of years but nobody knows about it, I haven't told anyone, not my family or my friends.

Anyway, I had an appointment at the dentist today after school for a check up, so I just went by myself, my mum didn't come with me. I saw the hygienist first and she did some cleaning and stuff and said I had some cavities in my teeth, but then she went away and talked to the dentist for a while and when I saw him he said I have cavities in practically all of my teeth and he asked me if I had an eating disorder.........I tried to deny it but he said he could tell because of the condition of my teeth.

I'm really scared now - first, I'm scared that he'll tell my mum about the bulimia, is he allowed to do that? Second, how on earth am I going to explain to my mum how I ended up with so many cavities without telling her about the bulimia? I really don't want her to know. She always says I'm fat, that's why I do it.
