Okay, I got spacers in my teeth on thursday, because I'm getting braces next week. My question is, why do my teeth feel like they've been hit repeatedly by my littel brothers baseball bat? I'm not exaggeration..I couldn't even eat mashed potatoes or jello they hurt so bad!

Lots of nerve endings are in our gums and pain is alot more intense in this area. Try taking paracetamol regularly if it continues. Good Luck :)

Moony,
You have braces so I am sure that you are familiar with the fact that you have nerves located in your teeth. When your teeth are moved/shifted sometimes the nerve will relocate with the teeth. I am only talking a slight shift. Before the nerve moves and the tooth has shifted there will be pressure on the nerve from the tooth. This can also affect sinus pressure.

Braces are not comfortable, I took a pain killer after each session so I could sleep at night. The next day it didn't hurt.

trust me the pain you get from the spacers is nothing compared to the pain you will have from the brace. the pain is so bad that i could barely eat anything.

there are nerves in your gums that are annoyed by the movement and pressure of the spacers, they will get used to it and stop hurting soon

Didn't your doctor sort of numb your gums? If it hurt that bad, maybe you should have put on retainers for a while.
