has taken out 4 teeth on one side of mouth he holds your nose then tells you to blow your nose while he is holding your nose shut why is he doing this and what is he looking for

this is a procedure done to check any root fragment in ur maxillary sinus
the sinus is on the side of nose n sometimes the roots of upper posterior teeth r in the sinus
what ur dentist does is absolutely normal
if there is any root fragment in the sinus ..it ll come out when u blow ur nose wid ur nostrils shut..but yes only if there is an opening of sinus in the mouth caused by extraction

I have never heard of such a thing. Usually if you hold your nose and blow you end up popping your ears (if you are in an airplane and change altitude).
I don't know of any dental reason for this, sounds a bit strange. Maybe it is to take your mind off the procedure? Unless he is afraid he punctured your sinus and thinks that air will come out in your mouth if you do that!!!

um.. i dont think there is any reason i have had plenty of teeth pulled b/c i have a small mouth and nobody ever did that to me. Your dentist seems a little crazy if you ask me.

There are a number of products for sale that has peroxide as an ingrediant for whitening the teeth. you could also use a million section peroxide and a pair of aspects water. only sleek it round on your mouth for type of 10 seconds then spit it out
