My boyfriend just got two wisdom teeth taken out three days ago. I have a work function to go to and its involves cocktails. Can he drink alcohol on the fourth day without messing up the healing process?

Yes, he can have a drink or two.

Moderate consumption will not hurt the healing process.

If he is still taking the pain killers that would be a NO. If he isn't then it would be okay, as long as it has been about 24 hours after the last one taken, of course I wouldn't recommend drinking alot. It shouldn't have any effect on the healing process. But if he gets drunk and falls on his face, THAT would have an effect on his healing!!

He should not take any medication while he drinks alcohol, but by the fourth day he most likely will not need any painkillers. I am not a dentist, but I do know that alcohol will clean a wound. If I were a medical professional, I would advise him to limit himself to a few drinks, and supplement that with water to keep him hydrated. But I'm not, so that is a layperson's opinion.

after the first 24 hours you can drink alcohol like whiskey, cognac, and liquor. but you cant have carbonated beverages like beer for the first three days. if it is after 3 days, you can drink any kind of alcohol you want. my husband had all 4 of his cut out. if he is taking antibiotic, the alcohol will kill the effect of the antibiotic, but if there is no sign of infection i would drink.

besides the mixing medication and alcohol thing, drinking alcohol dries out your mouth and this can support bacterial growth.

Yes, it should be fine. Eating is the one that can cause infection. Since it will be his 4rth day there shouldn't be a problem with either.
