I have this canker sore in the underneath my bottom lip. At first it was pretty small and did not hurt much. But after a week or so, it got bigger and more painful. I started to put a medicine called pyralvex to treat the sore. But it still remained for a few more days and got bigger and became inflammed. To relieve the pain, I gargled some Listerine mouth wash. After about 3 hours, I put some more pyralvex on the sore; it started to bleed and look irritated. This has lasted for about 2 weeks. I now know that this is a major canker sore. What can I do to relieve the pain and make this sore go away faster?

I like to use Crest Pro-Health, but no toothpaste I use seems to work! I think I take pretty good care of my teeth, brushing them 1-2 times a day, but I'm getting more and more sensitive spots and my gums have an itching feeling. I normally brush for about five minutes with an electric brush and I'm not satisfied until my mouth feels clean. My boyfriend says I'm scrubbing my enamel off, is that even possible? I haven't seen a dentist in a long time and I can't really afford to. What can I do??

Today was my post-op and the nurse helped clean the extraction sites with the syringe. in the office i didn't feel any pain, just on one side my gums felt kinda cold and tingly after.

after eating, i cleaned it again and now that one hole hurts. it is like the pain you feel when you have a cavity. the feeling radiates under my chin and around the back of my jaw. i'm assuming it's from a sensitive nerve. is this normal??

I pulled it out b/c it was hanging down. I thought it might be a bone spur so I pulled it with tweezers. It looked liked floss. Did I pull out stiches? Not sure if I even had them put in. I just got all 4 out yesterday.
Thanks,
Worried I did something wrong.

I have had my current dentist for about 12 months. After a thorough 1st examination he found a few level 4 and perhaps 5 gum pockets. Now he has a NEW hygienist and she found 6's and a 7 in a gum pocket that was 'scaled' about 15 months ago by a previous dentist. My flossing habits have improved & my meds haven't changed. I feel I am being taken. This dentist office is only about 15 months old and my area of town is building out like crazy. The dentist office is 1.5 mi. away. Do I need to find another more established dentist who is not counting on me paying for his/her practice. How much bearing does my Mom's previous periodontal problems have w/ my current dental health. I have also reached out to my previous dentist of 20+ years for his help since I moved out of his state 4 yrs ago. I am about ready to have all teeth yanked out or pack up my full mouth x-rays and hit the road. Thanks!

I was wondering if someone could help me with this - my child is getting the adult teeth (front top tooth in particular). The new tooth that is just starting to come in is fairly yellowed with opaque white spots on it. What is this and how do children get it? Does it go away on it's own or is there something we need to do?

Hi, I am a 17 year old 6th form student in full time education from Leeds and I was wondering if I could get braces even if my dentist says I don't need them? I go to the dentist every 6 months (as you should) and each time he says I don't need braces. The thing is, I really was them because my teeth would look so much better after the treatment. I have been referred to the orthordontist (spelling) a few times and I keep hoping he will he will give me them but again, he says I don't need them. I have heard that if you are under 18 and in full time education you can have braces fitted for free. Is this still the case if I request them rather than being referred?

Thanks.

They didn't hurt when they put them in. They didn't hurt for a while. About two hours and 30 minutes after i got them, one of my teeth started to hurt. This pain is unbareable. I just wanted to know if there is anything I can do to stop the pain, reduce the pain, etc.

Hi, well I just got a travel brush, and my dentist recommends that I use it at school, and I agree with him, I most definately do not want food stuck in my teeth.

But where can I brush them in a place, where people won't hear, they'll think I'm a freak!

I just want to have clean teeth...! I don't want any plaque marks or anything like that when they come off!

I have braces and I have a triumph electric toothbrush. Right now I have the toothrbrush head that has those yellow plastic things that are supposed to act as "flossers" (aka Oral B Floss Action), there's another one that has the round thing at the top and an addition thing at the bottom and the two move in two different motions (aka Oral B Dual Clean) and last but now least, there is the braces toothbrush head which basically just looks like a regular toothbrush head. I think that the dual head would work better since there's more area it covers and it moves in two different ways?
Does anyone have any of these (or has braces) and want to give me their input? Has anyone used the braces replacement head?
THANKS.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed last friday (a week ago tomorrow) and the last 2-3 days i have been getting an aching in my teeth at night. It feels like it is more in my molars than it is in the actual holes where the teeth were. It also feels a little better when i press on my lower gums. Does anybody have any idea what this might be? I took 2 advil about an hour ago and it still throbbing and hurts. Thanks

I have to have both of my upper wisdom teeth removed. I thought they only did this to teenagers. Who knew I'd be in my 40's getting my wisdom teeth removed? The oral surgeon said it would be my option. Sedation or local anesthetic. What do you recommend?
