I got my all four of my wisdom teeth extracted about 2 days ago. Yesterday I got sick and threw up on an empty stomach. I know that spitting motions and such can cause dry sockets so I was wondering if I caused any damage would I already feel the pain or could I still expect it to hit me? I don't feel any additional pain yet and the swelling has gone down a little.

It started with a toothache. The dentist drilled and filled and put a temporary crown on my back lower two molar teeth. Two days later my second to last tooth became abcessed. I had a root canal on Tuesday. Since then I still have some swelling, and feels like my right side of my face is numb. Also, I still have an achy feeling there and there is like bubbles along the gum line still. I will tell you that the last molar (the one that I didn't get the root canal on) the crown fell off and the air hit it and it was like someone shocked me. the pain was so bad I cried (and let me tell you, I just had natural childbirth 6 weeks ago and I didn't cry on that). What does this sound like and is it normal? There's not much antibiotics I could take since I am breast feeding. But they gave me a z pack to clear up the infection before my root canal

I hate it that I am lazy with some things ,but flossing is one. I do brush and use mouthwash and somehow I think that is good enough but now they are saying flossing can help you live longer? Do you think this is true?

And are those hand held flossers work just as well? Because I at least used to use that..lol

I got all four of my widsom teeth removed about three weeks ago. Everything seems to be healing up fine. I still have the holes (where my widsom teeth use to be), and they seem to be closing up fine. I haven't been having any pain. Lately I noticed some white stuff/film around and near the wisdom teeth extraction site (lower left part of my jaw).

It started appearing after I started using Listerine. During the first two weeks, I was using Scope, but I ran out, so I bought some Listerine. Could the listerine be causing this? The white stuff is more prominent after I brush and gargle. It seems to fade away during the day.

I'm fifteen and went to the dentist today and was told that I have periodontal disease in my mouth. The dentist told me I need to have a deep cleaning done, or I could be without teeth by the time I'm 25 years old. He said that he wasn't going to do it due to the fact I'm so young and recommended that I see a specialist. My parents are going to take me to a specialist withtin the next few days. My question is will this "deep cleaning" be painful? And what is exactly done?

I looked at similar questions on this forum and popular consensus seems to be your gums will NOT grow back. I've never flossed regularly before. Will flossing prevent further receding? It also appears that brushing too hard can make your gums recede. I've started flossing in the past week, but I'm not sre if that is just making my gums more irritated because they sure are sore. Suggestions?

Since I have no back teeth, & can chew with only one spot in my mouth, the dentist has suggested dental implants. This is a VA dentist, & they aren't known for their compassion. How painful is it? He says it will relieve my TMJ symptoms. Is this true? My jaw is out of alignment. Will it help? Thank you in advance for the input! By the way, when I said VA, I meant Veterans Administration, not Virginia. Thanks!

I've been feeling sick with an earache, headache, and body ache. I know that sometimes a bad tooth can cause an earache. If I had a tooth that was infected or otherwise bad, would it be really obvious, or can you have a "hidden" infection somewhere in the jaw without knowing it? Wouldn't my tooth have to be throbbing, really sensitive to touch or hot or cold, to have that sort of problem?

If you have had braces, are you happy with the finished result.
If you still have them, are you happy with the progress so far?
