I've been feeling sick with an earache, headache, and body ache. I know that sometimes a bad tooth can cause an earache. If I had a tooth that was infected or otherwise bad, would it be really obvious, or can you have a "hidden" infection somewhere in the jaw without knowing it? Wouldn't my tooth have to be throbbing, really sensitive to touch or hot or cold, to have that sort of problem?

If your tooth was abscessed then you would know it. Your tooth would throb all the time, it would be sensitive to hot and cold, it would keep you awake or wake you up, and you could not put any pressure on it because it would hurt. The only way that the tooth would be infected and you did not have any pain would be if you had a pimple on your gums below the tooth and the reason that it would not hurt is because the infection has a way to drain so therefore it is not building up any pressure to cause pain. It sounds like you are getting a cold. You should go see your doctor. I don't think that it is your tooth. Good Luck and I really hope that you feel better soon.

There ARE other things that can cause all of your symptoms. You could have an ear infection (inner ear, usually). If it doesn't hurt in your tooth, then it's probably not that. Go to the doctor, he/she will be able to tell you whassamadder.

If the tooth or gums are infected it will show up in pain. I've been there. You will need antibiotics. BTW on the anxiety disorder here is a site which is really good. www. panicsurvivor.com

Go see your doctor and get a blood test. Do it for you, and don't put it off. God bless.
