Last night I felt a hard/bubbly spot on the upper inside part on the right side of my gums. After brushing my teeth before going to bed I felt it with my toungue and it went to being soft and red? I'm not sure what it is and I'm a little scared. It looks irritated but im not sure what may have caused the problem..

Today It's still red and I feel a throbbing in that spot with no pain. What could this be?? Should I go see a DR?

Thank the powers that be, I'm finally able to get to a dentist tomorrow. I think I have an infected/abscessed tooth. Hopefully they will give me some antibiotics right away and be able to start work ASAP.

My question is: Is there a chance that I can get liquid antibiotics? I wanted to know ahead of time to set me at ease. I've always had a hard time swallowing pills, but these last couple months I've had problems with even small "easy swallow" pills.

Also, I've seen liquid painkiller on the shelves for adults... is there a prescription-grade liquid pain killer?

(yeah, I'm a wuss, go ahead and say it).

And - who writes the prescription, anyway? I'm guessing its the dentist herself.

I'm 26, last time I went to the dentist, I was 17 and my parents always took care of crap like this.

Thanks ahead of time!

My husband needs a complete mouth makeover. Some of his adult teeth never grew in and the partial for those teeth needs to be redone (bottom front two teeth). There are gaps between some teeth, and he needs caps/veneers on his top two front teeth. He definitely needs whitening and cavities filled in as well. Does anyone know an approximate cost for all of this? I know it will vary greatly but I'd just like a very general amount to have in mind. We do not have dental insurance. Thanks.

Americans say that the british and others have really bad teeth but i have just come back from the states and some of the ones i have spoken too have really bad teeth wow some of their teeth are green and also some of them have false teeth. I think it's about time the americans stop saying it now as their teeth are just the same lol could even be worse.

OMG! I'm only 13 and I need to get my wisdom tooth removed real soon. I'm soooo scared because I'm even scared to get a cavity filled at the dentist. I'm panicking soooo much, my heart's beating faster everyday and I can hardly sleep. I'm sooo scared! If you already had your wisdom tooth removed, please tell me how it went, and how to calm my fears. xoxo

there was a chance that extracting them would cause permanent numbness so I decided not to get them extracted.
I'm 17 and my wisdom teeth aren't bothering me yet so did i make the right decision by not getting them out?
