Ask your parents about seeking another opinion. My 12 year molars didn't come in until I was almost 18. I had my braces off several years before that. Also you could ask your orthodontist about an xray to determine the status of your molars. If you go six months or more without any adjustments to your braces then they should come off.

Have your general dentist check the position of this molar. My daughter had a second molar that was being blocked by the wisdom tooth and couldn't erupt. If they haven't taken a new panorex xray in a while this wisdom tooth could have started developing and moving in the path of the second molar. Your general dentist can talk to the orthodontist also about your case.

It will come in if it has the room.Beside that I'm 18 and have had braces for 11 months. I hate them but I have had over 10g done to my teeth. I cant chew food for 2 whole months.

The molar will come in but I don't know how it will come in. He is leaving the braces on so the molar wont make your teeth move and have to go through all the trouble with braces again.

im 14 and my 12 yr old molars are sort of coming out now. all my ortho is waiting for is for the molars! its so annoying! just stick with the same ortho because their not going to take them out until your molars come out. if they take your braces off before the molars come out, your teeth could shift when your molars start to come out. Good luck!

What does your general dentist have to say about this tooth? I'd be asking him/her rather than this forum!
