ANDREA,

THIS IS A GOOD QUESTION BUT IT TAKES LONGER TO EXPLAIN HOW IT'S DONE THAN HOW LONG IT TAKES.

FIRST A LITTLE ANESTHETIC IS PLACED UNDER THE TONGUE AND THE SMALL TISSUE WHICH BINDS THE TONGUE IS EASILY REMOVED WITH A SCALPEL. AFTERWARD SUTURES ARE PLACED WHERE THE CUTS WERE MADE.
THIS IS A VERY EASY PROCEDURE. THERE IS NOTHING TO FEAR. IN EITHER CASE FOR THE INFECTION YOU WILL BE PLACED ON ANTIBIOTICS.
