I have tried ice packs and they dont seem to help with the swelling at all...(its so bad my mom says it looks like some one beat me)The pain killers that the doctor gave me dont really do anything for the pain they just make me sleepy....there is and awful taste in my mouth that wont go away...help and I being a big baby or should I go back to the dentist?

It took my son until the 8th day before he felt fine and the pain went away.
We had him back to the dentist on the 4th day and the dentist said there was no infection and all would be better in 4 or 5 days.
He was correct. My son was amazed at the accuracy of his prediction.
So make sure there is no infection and ask for stronger pain meds.

I had 3 wisdom teeth pulled Monday. My face is a bit swollen and the pain is still there as well. My dentist told me the pain will last for a week and to rinse 4 times a day with salt water after 24 hours since a clean mouth heals faster. Doc also gave me a curved syringe to squirt water in the holes to keep food out.
Keep your mouth clean, do not suck (candy, straw, smoke) and you will get better.
