my sister put mouth wash in my pepsi when I was about 12 (sister's ugg) I took a big swig of it.. yuck.. and swallowed it without realizing (thought they had a new pepsi flavor lol) Till she started laughing hysterically anyways.. My Dad said that it could make you sick.. but I'm 24 and don't remember having any tummy aches or nothing afterward.. only a lingering paranoia when drinking pepsi.

It is not good to swallow mouthwash because of all the chemicals and the level of alcohol in it (if you use Listerine). Nothing serious will happen if you've only done it one time. Your body is very resilient to abuse. I recommend you drink a lot of water, say 4 glasses in a row. This will flush the mouthwash out of your body quickly and not give the mouthwash a chance to be absorbed by your body. Time is a key factor, you should drink water immediately after swallowing the mouthwash. You will have to goto the bathroom frequently because of the level of water you are drinking but the key to any toxin you put in your body is dilution. Remember: Dilution is the solution. If you ever ingest too large a quantity of something, dilute it with lots of water. This helps a lot and goes a long way. Hope this helps, stay healthy.

If you just took enough to rinse your mouth then you are okay, it's only when little kids accidentally swallow some, or adults deliberately swallow mouthwash that it becomes a problem. There is usually a considerable amount of alcohol in mouthwash, so just be aware of that, but seriously you're going to be okay.

You might get a little tipsy. Homeless people drink mouthwash because it's the cheapest alcohol you can buy.
Don't make it a habit...it will cause health problems eventually. If it has flouride in it, consuming it can make your teeth chalky (same reason you don't swallow toothpaste). Also, the alcohol is more akin to rubbing alcohol than something you're supposed to drink. It isn't exacly meant to be consumed.

You might end up with a stomach ache, at most. If it was just the regular mouthwash and you drank enough of it, you run the risk of getting drunk from the alcohol.

You'll have clean smellin' innards, that's for sure!...and you might feel tipsy too!
There may be alcohol as well included in the ingredients, but have no worries, the amount you swallowed is by far much too small to injure you at all.In case it makes you sick, at least it won't smell like puke!

by federal law, ANYTHING that is going into your mouth--toothpaste, mouthwash, etc is safe to swallow in small quantities. To make you feel even better, just drink a lot of fluids to dilute the mouthwash.

You'll probably be fine. Unless you swallowed a crazy amount it will all be fine. If you think you swallowed too much you can always call poison control.

Check the bottle. If it's a major problem, then it'll say treatments. If not, then don't worry about it. Drink some water to help dilute it, and make sure you don't make a habit of it.
