Hey guys, if you saw my last topic, you know im going in for a filling tommorow.

But now i have another consern...

About 3 weeks ago i went to the dentist and they found one cavity that im going to get filled tommorow, but befor i went a tooth on the other side started aching.

I got some gengimed(tm), its a cavity protecting, flouride, mouth wash. And now 3 weeks later my tooth dosn't hurt any more.

My 10 year old daughter has had teeth problems since she was 2 years old. I probably could have prevented it but there is nothing I can do it about it now. I just flossed my daughters teeth and I just noticed she has 2 new cavities.(I hope they are her baby teeth) I am so upset by this. I just got their insurance straight so I am calling first thing tomorrow to make a appt. Do I look like a bad mother?

Someone that I know currently has gingivitis on his mandibular central incisors. His gingiva have recessed and are rolled and there is marginal reddness present (only on these two teeth). I know that he needs to go to the dentist to have the plaque removed, but he is currently in the middle of getting new dental insurance and it's not an option for at least for a few weeks.
I've advised him to floss and pay special attention to brushing more often.
He has an orthodontic retainer on the back of these teeth, which has caused him to shy away from flossing these teeth as often as he should due to having to use a bridge threader. When I had him floss with a bridge threader, it was almost impossible to get it through his gingiva. When it did go through, his gingivia bled profusely.
What can I tell him to purchase, that is over the counter, to help treat this until he can make it to the dentist? Is this disease able to be cured completely at home if he's persistant with flossing & brushing

-: I first rinse my mouth with Hydrogen Peroxide for one minute.
-: Then I brush my teeth with Baking Soda and Colgate Advanced Clean tooth paste.
-: After than I rinse with Listerine and then floss.

Will this combination of ingredients harm my teeth?

my cousin has a huge problem with his teeth atm. i think it is a either the effects of gingivitis happening or periodontitis. she said her healthy gum layer is almost deteriorated they've become "straight" instead of that shape you see gums hold teeth into (they have receeded?). he's got black stains all over with cavity holes and it's only until recently that it's begun to hurt.

he's never been given candy or fast food, so i believe it is in his genetics that her teeth are in this condition. he's going to check the dentist soon, but it's quite expensive right now unless he can get the benefit from his school. what are some ways he can ease the pain or help fight the disease? O_O; thanks!

Can you tell me what the lifestyle is of a general dentist.

Not to be rude, how much a dentist makes a year in a private practice in New York.

How many hours do you work in a week

How much is Dental School altogether

how many years of total schooling do you need including residency

Please help, thank you very much:)

I am 14 and am getting my wisdom teeth removed in a couple weeks. I was just wondering does it hurt and for how long, what the procedure will be like and tips for recuperation (what I should eat, should I ice it, etc.)

I don't know what to eat, I've been eating only KFC mashed potatoes and wendy's frosties. I need something better to eat, my teeth have been out for about 36 hours now....any suggestions would be great. Also, is it normal for a little bit of bleeding after 36 hours? It seems that it is not completely finished bleeding...I just want to make sure everything is okay. Thanks everyone!

I haven't been to the Dentist in about 10 years, right after I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 17. Although I brush 2 or 3 times a day and floss just about every day, bad teeth run in my family. (My dad had to get dentures when he was 19.) Right after I found out I was pregnant, about 2 years ago, I found that I had a hole in center of one of my very back molars. I've wondered if a filling fell out. Over the last couple of years, the tooth has broken off a little here and there. It looks pretty bad. Sometimes it hurts, like when food gets down in it and just this week it has started to feel a little swollen along my gums. I haven't had insurance until just now and am going to make an appointment. I suffer from anxiety, so I was just wondering what should I expect? Also, what do I tell the receptionist I want to see the Dentist for? Just a check up? Or do I need to tell them everything over the phone? Thanks for your help!

My dental hygienist says it's dead. The pamphlet from my endodontist says it's alive and continues to be "nourished" by surrounding tissue.

I brush my teeth twice a day, morning and night, and i eat mints and chew minty gum a lot. But I still cant shift my bad breath, its ok after brushing but after around 20 minutes or so it goes bad again. Is there anything to make it better? Any special toothpaste or anything?
