The bleeding is probably ok.
Try eggs or pototoes (as long as not too hot!)
Yogurt, pudding, ice cream are nice.
soup is ok, tho' any rice or similar particles can find their way into the sockets, so those aren't great....
if yor'e really adventurous, take some chicken, onions and maybe brocolli and toss it in the blender w/ some spices or salkt 'n pepper to taste.... kind of crazy, but sometimes you can actually make a tasty dinner smoothie....
basically warm is ok, but hot is bad.
good luck

It was only last year that I had one of my wisdom teeth removed. You don't say if it was one of ALL of them that you had removed, but even with the one that I had there was a little trickle of blood on the cotton gauze every now and then, but nothing major. (I assume that your oral surgeon gave you some cotton gauze after the surgery; if he didn't, I recommend that you get some, and use it every four hours or so.) I am not an oral surgeon, but I would say that as long as you don't have a bloody mouth (i.e. it is not noticeable whenever you open your mouth), then you should be OK. As for what to eat, I was able to eat "soft" foods, such as macaroni and cheese, or vegetable soup (not too hot, though), or even mashed hamburger (no bun), but I would recommend laying off the "chewy foods" (steaks, foods in a bun, potato chips, etc.) for at least a week.

I had mine out recently and was told almost any soft foods should be ok..like pasta, ground beef, rice, soft cooked veggies. Theres lots of things that are soft. Also, alot depends on how sore you are. I ate regular food 4 hours after having my teeth out and was fine.
You should call your oral surgeon / dentist about the bleeding though. 36 hours sounds a bit long for it to continue to bleed. You could try a moistened tea bag on the extraction site. Be gentle with it you dont want to upset the blood clot where the tooth was.

EAT!!! The only restrictions on eating are ones you put on yourself. Have a burger! Take it off of the bun. Your jaw might be tight, but it needs exercise to loosen up.. I crunched through an apple the day after mine were out just to get it healing faster (I had to cut the apple though. I couldn't open wide enough to take a bite!) The only things I tell people to avoid are rice and small seeds. They have a tendency to end up in the sockets. Just rinse out after you eat with warm water or just warm water.
Good luck

I had all 4 of mine removed on Tuesday and I'm still sticking to soft mushy liquidy stuff... creamy soups, mashed potatoes, pudding, yogurt without any seeds, ice cream, popsicles, fruit chillers, and drinking plenty of fluids. It's probably ok to start eating some other soft foods like bread or whatever, but I'm a wuss and being cautious.

Stouffer's Microwavable Mac and Cheese! I loved it when I had my wisdom teeth out! It's soft enough you don't really have to chew, but it's hearty enough to make you feel better about having eaten something solid.
I wasn't bleeding anymore after 36 hours, it might be something you would want to call your dentist about because you don't want to have dry socket.
