By and large you want to avoid alcohol, but it sounds like it's been 36 hours, and one drink will PROBABLY be ok...but if you do get a dry socket, you didn't hear it from THIS doc!

Just be sure you rinse after w/ the warm salt water, and avoid using a straw w/ the rum 'n coke!

take care!

Anything with alcohol might dry out the blood clots and lead to dry socket, it's not recommend for at least the first 24 hours. I avoided it for longer because I didn't want to tempt fate with it.

Ehh...
A COUPLE of beers will be okay. And liquor is okay, too. But just use your best judgement. Just don't use a straw. And rinse with salty water afterward.
Also, be careful with any drinking while on pain medications. (If you are.)

Good luck to you! Getting my wisdom teeth out, and the week thereafter, was one of the worst things I've experienced.

It shouldn't. Don't use a straw though.

Also, hope desperately that you don't get Dry Socket. No matter how painful you've heard that Dry Socket is, I assure you that it's actually worse than that.
