I need to have a middle front tooth extracted for orthodontia because it is almost completely rotated. The orthodontist referred me to my dentist to do it, but she referred me to an oral surgeon. I thought any dentist could do an extraction? Does the rotation make it more difficult or something?

If the 1st secondary tooth comes in squinty, will this straighten out in time? There appears to be not enough room, that was until anoth milk tooth fell out.

My daughter is 13 years old and has been suffering really bad toothache for the past 3 weeks. Anyway, to cut a loooooooong story short, the dentist said that she has her wisdom tooth coming through on the one side and right next to it is a rotten tooth which is going to cost us about 150 euros to fill. Shouldn't we rather just have the rotten removed and allow the wisdom tooth to take it's place?

Come on you clever clever dental experts!

I just got a root canal done (as in I just walked in the door coming back from my appointment 5 minutes ago), and I was wondering how long it takes for the novacaine to wear off and how long it takes to have the perm. filling put in place?

Oh, I had five shots of novacaine if that factors into the time period at all.

dentist broke off a file from his drill in my tooth (they told me it happens all the time). They gave me my $ back (told me they'd send the impression out for a crown or whatever) sent me to an endo (i paid) and told me to come back in 3 weeks to get the cap put on. They gave me a really low price on the cap like i only owed $400 more. The endo couldn't get the file out but finished the root canal. The dentist or endo wouldn't tell me what could happen in result of this. When the dentist never called me to tell me the cap had came in I called. The receptionist looked up my file and told me they didn't have a cap because I had never been there to get a root canal. So I said let me talk to someone else because I was. Everyone kept telling me I wasn't there. Finally someone admitted I was but told me that they never sent the mold off and didn't have it anymore. Anyways don't you think it's weird that they pretty much trashed my file, does that mean i should sue them, can I.

I'm just curious cause it felt like a lot of pressure was being used when probing my teeth, and i have this feeling like a metal pick shoved into a tooth would damage the enamel. Obviously I'm not a dentist but it doesn't feel right.

i was just wondering becasue honey is the only food that does not spool. So i was wondering since it does not spoil will it harm your teeth or maybe prevent tooth decay.

If anyone is unclear about what I'm talking about, I'm quite sorry. As you can see, I have no idea what the thing is called. But if you curl your front lip up and look inside, you can see the thing I'm talking about. Any doctors/dentists know what I should do?

This is only until I can get to a dentist. I have had this throbbing toothache for about a week now and I've been taking aleve. At first, the aleve was helping but now it is not doing much. I have also heard bad things about aleve, so I want to lay of of that. I tried orajel, but that only made it worst. What do you guys truly recommend.

I have to have upper jaw surgery to fix my underbite. They are going to move the upper jaw forward and widen it and do a bone graft. Has anyone had this procedure done? I want to know what to expect before going through with it. I know to ask the doctor but I would REALLY like to hear from someone who actually went through with it!

My orto dontist told me I have to wear rubber bands to school! They are almost as bad as headgear! My friend told me they move just as fast if you wear them hlf the day and double them up, but I may have my braces on longer! So I can either... 1. Wear them to school, live with the insults, and get them off in 4 weeks.. or.... 2. DO NOT deal with the insults, continue being cool, and get my braces off in 6 weeks.

Answer as if you were a 13 year old girl in the middle of the school year with a ton of friends! WHAT TO DO!

wisdom teeth?
my dad thinks that Asians dont have Wisdom teeth because they are higher on the evolutionary scale. but i think that the people who do have wisdom teeth are higher than the Asians because we "evoloved" to have them. wouldnt that make people with wisdom teeth more evolutionized?

How common is it for a dentist to work in another dentist's practice without owning a part of it. I want to be a dentist, but I don't want the responsibilities of running a practice, and potentially if I have children I don't want to work full time. I understand that I won't make as much money, but I think dentistry is something I want to do, but I want the freedom of working part time if I need to. Could someone tell me if this is possible?

I had a root canal done at the end of March of this year. That about killed my pockets at the tune of $1000 and of course, I needed a crown after that and just have not had enough extra money floating around to get one........I do not have dental insurance, as it is not provided at my place of employment.

Is it possible to get a cavity where inside the tooth where the root canal was? I have a whole there, and it is plugged for the most part, but I am sure the plug will continue to wear over time.

I am concerned, but still are in need of a few hudred dollars to finish the procedure.

Any advice????

And don't send me links to dental plans............this would be a pre-existing condition they WOULD NOT cover.

Thanks!!
