You must go to a dentist now! It only cost about a hundred bucks to get a tooth pulled. Call them and tell them. They will probably take you on an emergency basis and some will even work out payments with you. Do not wait an abscess will only get worse and can be dangerous.

There really is no way to get rid of an infection other than antibiotics. Perhaps you could go to an Urgent care or your reg. doctor for some, explaining you have no insurance. The only way this is going to stop giving you problems is to have the tooth removed or get a root canal. Maybe there is a dentist that will take payments? There is an insurance called Dentacare that some dentists have, its like a credit card for just dental work. Perhaps you could borrow the money? It is really dangerous to leave an infected tooth as it is. Is there a dental school close? Try calling around to the different dentists in your area and see if they can work with your or at least give you a ball park cost. Usually, the tooth extraction shouldn't cost more than 100, maybe a little more. Talk to your parents, friends, boss....perhaps they can lend you the money
You could also go to the emergency room, although I hate to recommend that as a treatment, but they don't usually ask for money upfront.
Good luck

If you have an abcess over the tooth and you can see the white pus, you really do need to see a dentist. The infection itself will drain when it is ready, but it can spread to the rest of you in the meantime and cause even worse problems. This infection is in your mouth, a short hop and skip from your brain. And some sorts of infections can even migrate to your heart, where they can damage the heart itself. Not a pretty picture, no matter how you look at it. If you live near a dental school, you can go to their student clinic for low cost or no cost treatment. You may even find dental treatment available through the local health department. And you can usually get a dentist to treat you and work out a payment schedule of some sort for emergency treatment. If you treat it now, you may still be able to save the tooth itself. You may not, but even the extraction is cheaper than the hospital bill for the complications. Meantime, any over the counter pain reliever will help, Motrin would probably be best. Hot drinks and hot packs on the spot will help it to drain, which will relieve most of the pain. But it will just return until you deal with the underlying cause.

An abscess is dangerous! It in an infection- if you don't get it taken care of, the infection can spread to your bloodstream and make you VERY sick (if bad enough, it can become fatal)
Call around. I'm sure you can find a dentist who will take payments or make some sort of arrangement. It truly doesn't cost a lot to get a tooth extracted- $150 at the most. If all else fails, go to the ER- they will, at the very least prescribe you antibiotics to take care of the infection.

You need antibiotics to get rid of the infection, then you need to get the tooth out. Abscessed teeth are filled with poison and can wreak havoc on your system.
There are free clinics and you can go to one of them. Call your local health department and ask them where the clinic is and ask where there is a dentist that will work with you on a sliding fee scale.
Call a dentist, they will work with you. It will cost you about $150 total to have the tooth removed, the prescription, and the exray they need to do in order to pull the tooth.
You need to do this and it isn't that much money. If your car broke down you would fix it, so do the same with your teeth.
Best Wishes!

You can't get rid of an abscess on your own. You need to take anti-biotic first for the swelling to go away, then have extracted. I don't have dental insurance either, but must look after my teeth. I have to charge it to my Visa and pay it off as fast as possible. There are Dentists that will take monthly payments, but do something fast cause a bad tooth can cause other internal problems.

If you really have an abscess you need to have antibiotics before the tooth is extracted to keep the infection from spreading. Look for a dental clinic or some dentists will agree to take payments. Some hospital emergency rooms will refer to dentists for emergency extractions if they are causing physical problems.

I woke up this morning with the same problem with a tooth I have been ignoring for a while-this morning it is dull numbing pain and alot of pressure.I called the dentist and am going in a few hours-YOU HAVE TO SEE A DENTIST!!!I hated to but this is serious and you can not let it go-you need antibodics.LOOK in the phone book and call and explain what is going on-usally you will find at least one who will work payment options with you-plus I do not know where you live-but here in my state-antibodics are free! When you go see the dentist(do not put it off) they will give ya a prescrition for them cuz you have to take them before getting the tooth pulled-if not and they pull it the infection will spread to your bloodstream-not a pretty sight. When you go to the pharmacy tell them you do not have insurance and they will give you the antibodics free(I am sure it is in all areas?) but get off the computer and go call now! Not worth putting off!

An abscess can migrate infection into your blood stream, and a blood infection is a lot more expensive than a tooth extraction. (Also you could be hospitalized or die from one...)
Go to the emergency room-- ask for antibiotics (maybe they can offer a sample pack) and a referral to a dental school or to a dentist that offers a payment plan.
Be in charge of your own life... Don't wait for "someone else" to take care of you.
