I get my second set of braces next week. (I wasn't happy from the results of the first brace) The only problem is, im really scared as to what people will say. I didn't care the first time, because i was about 11, but now im 16, most people have had their braces off, and ill be like the only one with them still on. Arrrrrrrrrgh. Its really stressing me, because i want perfect teeth, but i dont want to put up with low self esteem, because i have a feeling i will!

I have a nice, straight smile thanks to braces years ago. However, my front right tooth tends to move forward. My dog chewed up my invisalign retainer last year, and now a gap has grown from the tooth moving.

My insurance will not cover orthodontia, so would a dentist fit me with a retainer at a more reasonable cost?

What are my alternatives or options? Thanks.

A couple of hours later i felt like my tooth move or clicked or something i thought it cracked in half but then i looked in the mirror and my wire was not bent any more and everything looked normal. Now everythings back to normall but im not sure if i should go back to the othadontist or is everyhting fine?? Are my braces loose??? Has this ever happend to you or anyone you know?

My husband was perfectly fine one minute and the next minute the side of his face, from the front of his ear to the bottom of his jaw swelled up like a balloon. Here's a little background...

He's not been to a dentist in 6 years. He has a loose lower front tooth for quite a while (same side as the swelling). Swelling appeared out of the blue and subsides with ice and IP Profine in 2-3 hours. Swelling re-ocurrs rapidly only while eating.

He finally saw a dentist yesterday, but she found no Periadontal disease. She cleaned and then bonded the loose tooth. No swelling occurred during this session.

As soon as we returned home and he started eating...boom it started again. I'm heading back to the dentist for some antibiotics as I fear he has an infection somewhere and it's dangerous to let an infection go untreated as I know it can spread to the brain.

But any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

in Canada. Are there ones less than $6000, or is it usually more? And are they very uncomfortable by the way? I'm 18 and I really want them.

I don't see why it isn't already. If your teeth get too bad, it can affect your brain. Are there any health insurance plans that include dental, or do you always have to get dental separate?

i drink Pepsi every day but go to great lenghts to protect my teeth as much as i can. i always drink it in less than 20 minutes, i swish water around after pretty much every drink. and as soon as i'm finished drinking it, i rinse my teeth with water & toothpaste and chew sugarless gum. or if i drink one with my lunch or dinner, i brush and floss afterwards as well.

my question: if i switch to diet Pepsi, will i still have to do all of that? doesn't diet Pepsi still have sugar in it that can harm your teeth, just to a much lesser degree? i know it would be way better for my teeth and my health to make the switch, but i just can't seem to do it...

I think I may have an abscess tooth, my molar hurts like crazy and I have some other symptoms as well. I'm taking antibiotics, but can't go to the dentist for about a month (insurance issues) Will this be OK?

I've decided to get teal braces, although I want another color ot go with it. What goes good with teal? I was thinking hot pink, or lime. also, does lime on braces lok like you have something in your teeth?

Well, I've heard that people use something like this to help the wires from scratching their mouth. Tell me exactly how this wax works, how you put it on, how often you'll need it, etc.

I've had a permanent retainer (the little wire cemented to the back of my upper and lower six teeth) for about 6 years, and recently I've been getting bleeding gums a lot, especially when brushing my teeth and flossing. I've been so diligent with my teeth especially because of the retainer, but I don't understand why this is happening. Could it be because my wisdom teeth may be growing? Please help!

My mom just told me I grind my teeth at night and I have no idea why.
I am so obsessed with keeping my teeth perfect. I had braces for 3 years so I have a reason. haha...anyways, is there any preventatives for teeth grinding? Is there anything I can think about before I go to bed that will relax me and not make me grind. I don't want awful teeth so please help!
