Bad breath is a serious social problem for many people regardless of age and status in life. Brushing the teeth to remove plaque and tartar helps, as does treating canker sores that may appear on the gums and taking other steps to maintain good oral hygiene. Unless bad breath is kept under control by tooth brushing and flossing and where necessary, the use of antibacterial products at http://www.oramd.com/bad-breath.htm the condition will recur.

Bad breath is usually caused by bacteria somewhere in your oropharynx. It can be caused by gingivitis and bleeding gums which you may not be aware of because it's a slight case. You should also brush your tounge including the very back of your tounge. If you have to gag, pause and then do it again. Your diet may include garlic and onions which can cause bad breath but that would be more acute and not chronic.

I would recommend improving your dental care by using Listerine for 30 seconds (not Scope) and then flossing twice a day and brushing your teeth with an electric toothbrush instead of a manual. Buy Oral B's cheapest model for less than 20 dollars at Wal-Mart or Target. Brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes.

Also, note your vitamin intake If you are not consuming enough fruits and vegetables, you might be getting a mild case of scurvy which is a Vitamin C deficiency. That could cause your gums to bleed slighly. It's not something that affects sailors in the 17th century. I've seen people get scurvy in todays' meat and potatoe society

First thing I suggest is you check what dental products you are currently useing.

There are "sugars" in many of them to help with taste and flavor but for some people this causes or increases bad breath. One of them is called Saccrin or something and I think another is called Sorbital.

I think Crest likes to use these (I know they do in their Pro-Health line).

You can try looking for FDA approved products that do not use Sugar or Artifical Flavors. I know Tom's of Maine has one approved Toothpaste like that.

You will also want to look at some foods and gums and find out if any of the "sugars" they use, those stated before included, increase or create your bad breath. Then you will know to reduce eatting these, avoid eatting these, or brush with something free of these immediately after you eat these.

bad breath cure will always depend on the cause of bad breath. remember that there are loads of bad breath cause like dry mouth, gum disease, bacteria, cavities, medications, sinusitis or eating garlicky meal.

you must know also that it is important to make it a habit to brush and floss teeth every after meal. keeping the mouth hydrated by drinking loads of water can help fight bad breath, an all natural oral care product can help remove food debris and can keep the mouth clean and fresh. for more tips on how to take care of breath visit http://www.oramd.com

Assuming that you have tried all the usual things, it may require the help of a doctor.

Some of the usual things:
Brush your teeth regularly, including after eating
Use a mouthwash
Avoid eating things with strong odors, such as onions, garlic, and other spicy foods.
Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking (anything).
Eat a healthy diet, avoid junk food.
Be sure to get some exercise daily. A half hour walk will do.
Get enough sleep.
Shower or bathe daily.
Wash your hair often enough to keep it fresh and clean.
Wear clean clothing every day.

Bad breath is caused often because you haven't brushed and flossed well .If you don't keep teeth and gums free of the bacterial buildup, they'll start to cause odor as the bacteria rot leftover food particles in your mouth. A few seeds of cardamom chewed for a brief while will clear your mouth of bad breath. Chew parsley leaves, which are sure to keep your breath fresh. While keeping your mouth shut and breathing normal inhale through your left nostril and exhale through your right nostril for a few repetitions and then switch nostrils. If this does not work then quit smoking.

the bad breath comes from the things left between the teeth. so brush, floss, then gargle with Listerine.

Make sure you brush and floss your teeth twice a day (preferably morning and night). Stuff in between your teeth gets to be like rotten food - if you don't get it out it will smell. Also brush your tongue, alot of bacteria sits there. Then follow up with mouthwash like listerine.
