I think i read somewhere that they sometimes dont hurt? What r the chances of having one without it hurting? Is it possible you need a root canal without your tooth even hurting?

I recently paid for the full Invisalign treatment, ($5000) and I just started my first trays; I have a total of 10 trays.
Am I receiving the Invisalign express treatment? What exactly is the difference between the two treatments...there are conflicting ideas on the internet, and the receptionists at the othrodontist were clueless.
I will most likely speak to the ortho himself next time I go in, but that will not be for another 6 weeks, so any info would be appreciated!!

Can TMJ cause pain in the skull? I have a lump on one of my ears, where the lobe meets the side of my face, but it feels like a skin infection. However, I have pain along my skull on that side, and in that ear as well. Could this be caused by my TMJ being more predominant on one side than the other (i.e. I'm grinding my teeth more on that side)? I'm scared it might be some sort of cancer of my bone.

My teeth are see through on the bottom because until I was almost 16, I never had good dental care. I could rarely brush my teeth without bad pain because of gum disease. Is there any way to fix the see through teeth and make them whiter and stronger looking? I don't like veneers because they're ugly. It doesn't matter how much money it'll take so what are my options.

I burned a small part of the roof of my mouth yesterday morning while drinking hot coffee. Now (two days laters) it's really sore. The pain is very localized, and it feels as though that portion of the hard palate itself is very sore and tender whenever I eat anything or press up on it. There's also a bump in that spot and it is slightly reddish pink in color. Is this a a normal reaction to a hard palate burn? I'm scared it might be oral cancer. The last time I went to the dentist (two months ago) he diagnosed me with TMJ and took X-rays and said everything else was fine. Could oral cancer just pop up like that even though X-rays detected nothing?

what's the name of the surgery that fixes the gaps and straightens your teeth along with whitening in a few hours? How much does it cost and how old do you have to be? Also can I keep the gap in the middle of my front teeth if I want to?

My two front teeth stick out a little bit and I don't want to get braces if I can help it. I've heard of a spring retainer but I'm not sure whether it would work. Thanks in advance <3

I know I have to wear them, and I do, often, but lately whenever i place the elastics in my braces, the next time I open my mouth, they snap off. I have to keep replacing them and its really irritating. It got so annoying, that i just got to the point where i stopped wearing them for a few days. Why is this? And I am pretty sure that I am putting them in the right way. I even asked my orthodontist and he said i was doing it right. What gives??

The dentist just told me today that I have to get braces. MY teeth are perfectly straight, but I have a small gap in between my two front teeth and I have an overbite. How long will I have to wear braces? Can I chew gum?

...I posted an earlier story about getting a treatment plan of $16,000 with them....well guess what,...I'm paying it as we speak, and they HAVEN'T DONE THE WORK, and they just shut down the office I was going to, and their corporate number leads me to nothing, and the website "contact us" leads me to a dead email as well.

I want to take legal action,...but what should I do?

can someone give me info on a vertical root fracture? Not from a dentist-making-money aspect but from a practical aspect. I have had many expensive and bad experiences with dentists, I have had files break in two different teeth and repeat root canals, now I have had an abcsess on the side of my gum for a few years off and on, it never really hurt, but now it does and I'm pretty sure it is a vertical root fracture. I have a crown on it, so I can't see anything. The last thing I want to do is have tons of expensive "tests" performed just to have maybe helpful treatments to eventually have it pulled. Clearly I have no faith in dentists and would rather forget about it as I have the past 2 years but it won't go away. What is the best way to go about this without paying out my a s s again? Should I just insist on getting it pulled? My regular dentist wants me to go to a specialist but I know the drill (heheee) and I can't pay for something im just going to lose anyway...help..

know about reactions to these Or rejection of titanium. Sounds strange but I have a strange body chemistry. If there is a side effect I'll get it (no I don't study side effects beforehand).
From extractions to finished project how much time is involved. I also have to have bone build-up.
Just how painful is all of this. Don't tell me to ask my dentist. I want to talk to ppl who have been there.
Thanks for your help.

I have alot of enamel erosion on my teeth...most of it is on the back sides of my teeth, especially in front. Are veneers a viable option for someone with this kind of erosion? Do the veneers go over the back, or are caps a better solution?

Does anyone know where I can get dental assistance? My teeth are in really bad shape and I have no funds to get them taken care of. I have 4 kids and income in ok but not enough to afford the dental care I need. According to what aid there is out there say that Salud Dental clinic I earn above the minimum wage so I don't qualify for aid. So what does that mean? Does it mean that I lose my teeth when I can't afford to have dental care for myself. I care for my kids and have been a single mom for 13 years! Any ideas?
