It might tighten up. The dentist will probably clean out any debris around the area since that's usually what causes the gum to become swollen and loose. Then you should gently brush and floss the area a couple times a day as well as rinse with Listerine or a dilution of half 3% hydrogen peroxide and half water. It it is really infected, he might prescribe antibiotics, but it will probably settle down and tighten back up.

If I were you I would call the dentist and say you need a appointment very soon because it's an emergency. All kinds of things could happen to it! I'm no mouth expert though, you could call your dentist and ask for suggestions of what to do until your appointment.

you should be rinsing your mouth with salt water...call the dentist's office 1st thing in the morning and tell them what you've done and that the bleeding won't stop...you may need prescribed meds to get it fixed before the dental appointment...they can't work on an infected mouth...try not to eat foods that aren't liquids...you should be ok till morning on tea, jello, soups, that kind of stuff until you talk to the office...

THIS MEANS YOU NEED TO GET HELP FROM A DENTIST.
IN THE MEANTIME BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT .SWISH WITH LISTERINE OR PEROXIDE TO AID THE LOCALIZED BLEEDING GUM

rinse with Act mouthwash.. my dentist recommended it to me because of the flouride content. You may want to call your dentist's office and ask to speak to the hygenist.
