I am a 15 year old boy and my wisdom teeth popped through my gums and are kind of bothering my back molars infront of the wisdoms. Should I get them pulled or when?

I think you should call your dentist, pronto. If you think your back wisdom teeth are affecting your back molars, they could be doing serious damage to the roots of those molars. Not good. Call the dentist, and let them take the x-rays. Don't delay. You do do NOT want to lose those back molars!

To answer your question: no, your wisdom teeth do not have to be fully "in" to pull them. In fact, in many cases, the wisdom teeth cannot come in because there isn't room and/or they are right below your back molars. They call those impacted wisdom teeth. (I never saw my own wisdom teeth except on x-ray. All four of mine were impacted and never broke through the gum. I had to have them all pulled so they wouldn't damage my back molars.)

If they recommend you get them pulled, don't sweat it too much. I'm not going to tell you it's pleasant having your wisdom teeth out, because it's NOT, but you do get through it. :) Since yours are already popped through your gums, it shouldn't be a complicated surgery.

Good luck :) And don't wait, because you don't want to risk the damage to the molars you already have:)

This is a question for a professional - make an appointment and follow through. I have known folks reaching their late 20's before their wisdom teeth came through.

An orthodontist or dental surgeon will be equipped to handle this problem and the first thing they'll do is an x-ray to see not only where your wisdom teeth are but also how they're affecting your other teeth.

Don't mess around with this it could not only have a seriously negative effect on your smile in the future, but if allowed to exacerbate an existing problematic condition, could lead to a more serious disorder like tibio-mandibular joint disorder (popping and pain in your jaws when chewing.)

No, your teeth do not have to be fully in to pull them. You should go see your regular dentist, and he or she will probably reccommend that you see an oral surgeon. The surgeon will evaluate your teeth, and then you can set an appointment for the extraction. It would be best if you could get them pulled before a vacation from school because when you wake up from the anesthesia, you will want to keep sleeping for a while. Also, your mouth will hurt for a few days. You'll have to just have soft foods, but your surgeon should talk to you more in detail about this. Good luck! It really isn't so bad with the anesthesia lol :)

hi
usually the eruption time for the wisdom teeth is between 17 and 21, so after 21 if the wisdom teeth not come out by itself ,you need to consult a dentist ,and this bothering feeling is fine related to it eruption

Wisdom teeth don't have to be through at all to pull them. If they are hurting they should probably come out. Just make a dental appt. and they should point you in the right direction.

Your orthodontist is the only one to decide this. It depends on whether or not the wisdom teeth are affecting your other teeth, how they are coming in and how painful they are.

No, they do not have to be fully in to have them pulled. I had 2 of mine pulled, and neither were even halfway in.

Have your parent make an appointment with your dentist, and he/she will determine if you need to see an orthodontist.

They dont have to be out at all to get them pulled..most people actually get them pulled before they ever have the chance to cut through the gums.Maybe talk to your dentist about whether you need to get them out or not..some people have room for them and of course they are gonna be hurting because its just like when a baby is teething...but at the same time it could be that you need them out. they take x-rays and etc to see if you need them out.

no, you can have them surgically removed, and you can be put under. It is not that bad, the worst part is after words you feel like you have not eaten for a few days because you survive off soup, etc. for a few days. It's not that bad.
