I went to a dentist, and was ordered a Full Mouth Debridement (D4355) for $202.00. I have no idea of what exactly they have to do but they explain that it's different from a regular cleaning and my insurance will not cover such thing. I have no idea of how much is it cost on average dentist and I said yes to have it done on me. When I went home, I realize that some dental office offer it less than what I'm paying. Should I file a complain? If I should, where can I bring my complaints to.? I live at area code 92126.

I think that I have TMJ although I have not yet been dianosed by a physician or dentist. It started about a year ago with some annoying clicking but has gotten progressively worse, with locking and loud popping, since I had my wisdom teeth out about 6 months ago. It has now gotten so bad that I can no longer open my mouth any wider than the width of two of my fingers, and that's only if I'm lucky. It has been like that now for about 5 days. Because I cannot open my mouth, eating, yawning, and even talking are becoming increasingly more uncomfortable.

I have tried cold packs, and hot packs, and Ibuprofen, and once upon a time a tried a mouth brace (like a tooth guard) however that is no longer an option as I cannot open my mouth wide enough to get the guard between my back teeth. Nonetheless, nothing has helped. What I used to to think of as annoying has now become a serious problem.

Does anyone know of any remedies that might help me?

I got my tongue pierced, and now it's infected, and I'm terrified it will grow huge and deform my mouth, or spread to my brain, or any of those other horrible possibilities. The infection is very small, maybe a large pin head? (o <- about that) Please give me advice on how to keep my tongue, and hopefully the piercing too. My piercer said she can either remove it now, while it's still small, or i can try washing it twice a day with sea salt, which is supposed to be a very good healer, and washing out with listerine at least 6 and hopefully 8 times a day. She says I should see results within a week, the sea salt is that quick, but I'm still so very nervous. If there is anything more that I can do, tell me :} Seeing a doctor isn't really an option.

I need quite a lot of work done but despite working full-time can't afford to see my own dentist, I've been told that if I registered with a NHS school of dentistry I could get it all done for free by dental students.

Dentists are always talking about how you should never get cavities your self, but do they have many cavities? And do dentists have dentists, or do they self-examine themselves?

I'm always a little nervous about going to the dentist, but I wouldn't be as much if I knew a little of what to expect.

And also... does anyone know how long it will take the hole to close? Any answers would be appreciated. I am a wimp when it comes to mouth pain! I just want to know when I can start breathing easy again.

I have to get braces in 1 month and I have to wear them for 2 years. My teeth are really bad and crooked especially my front ones that show when I smile or talk, they are so gross that I can't even smile at all. Is there anything temporary that the dentist can put on my front teeth so that I can smile now because I don't want to wait 2 years before I can ever smile?

What concerns me is that the first was a lower tooth but now she lost one of her upper front teeth just a week ago and now the other upper front tooth is loose and about to come out. I'm worried she won't have anything to bite with! I'm taking her to her dentist of course but is this normal? I'm a single Dad and haven't been through this since I was a kid.

We just moved to a new area around north georgia. We found a dentist that seemed good but when we both went in to get our teeth checked the dentist suggested that our teeth needed an extra cleaning that cost an additional amount of money that our insurance only covered partial. They said it was due to the fact that our gums had 4-5 pockets in it and it needed to be deep cleaned under the gum. My husband and I think that it is kind of funny and they may be lying b/c we just went to the dentist about 8-10months ago and that dentist gave us a regular cleaning that our insurance covered and told us that our gums had only 1,2,3 pockets. My question is, could both our teeth and gums really have progressed that bad in that short amount of time if we both have been taking care of it or could our current dentist be lying to try to upgrade our teeth cleaning to something that our insurance does not cover completely? How can u tell??
