Yes, chewing gum can wear down your teeth bit by bit. Even if u dont notice it everytime you chew gum, the sugar gets stuck in between the teeth so after a while the sugar will "eat" or wear down the tooth.

Actually, yes. Having sugar on your teeth most of the day leads to cavities. Same with sugary drinks like soda... that's why dentists recommend to drink with a straw (less contact with teeth). However, if you are chewing gum that is artificially sweetened with Xylitol, then you should have no problems. So it depends what type of gum... gum with sugar will definitely cause tooth decay if you chew it all day every day. But there are some gums that will have no effect... might even be good for you as they stimulate the production of saliva to rinse your teeth. Check out the source I listed for more info.

Sugarless gum is what you should be chewing. Actually, gum chewing is good for the gums, as it removes particles that get stuck between the teeth and eventually cause plaque. Keep chewing, but make sure it is sugarless!

Next after suckers, chewing gum with sugar in it , is the worse thing you could do for your teeth. If you gotta chew, go sugarless.

You're allowed to chew gum in school? We weren't.
Make sure it's sugar free.

my aunts dentist told her he could tell she was chewing way too much gum and he could tell. so maybe. you should probably try and switch out pieces of gum with mints and cut back on the chewing.

gum can def. affect you teeth. try cutting down a lot and sugar-free is the best but also look out for the ingredient 'aspartame'.. its in alot of things but gum esp. and it causes cancer so be careful.
