easy, you have to get another piece!!!!
(on a serious note.... only in rare cases... swallowing a large chunk of gum, or many small pieces of gum over a short period of time, can block the digestive tract. Blockages in the digestive system are most likely to happen when gum is swallowed along with other indigestible things...like sunflower seed shells. Normally it just passes on through eventually... undigested... because the body is unable to digest it.)

Well nothing has happened to me so far and Ive been swallowing it every time I have it...
I think the stories about it could be made up to stop you swallowing it as you could end up choking but I dont believe it does anything

if you swallowed gum, there's nothing to worry about. it'll basically come out, but it's not really digestable by enzymes and no, not years. that is a rumor. a million of people swallowed gum and nothing bad has happened to them.

It will pass thru your digestive system undigested and end up in the toilet.
There is an urban legend about it taking 7 years to digest and will stay in your stomach or intestines the entire time but that is not true.

it gets digested just like food does and no it doesnt stay in your body for extened periods of time.
