I've had a permanent retainer (the little wire cemented to the back of my upper and lower six teeth) for about 6 years, and recently I've been getting bleeding gums a lot, especially when brushing my teeth and flossing. I've been so diligent with my teeth especially because of the retainer, but I don't understand why this is happening. Could it be because my wisdom teeth may be growing? Please help!

its because you are not cleaning well enough under the retainer. No matter how well you think you are cleaning there you are missing spots which leads to gingivitis. You should go to your dentist and have your teeth cleaned and it should resolve in a week if you can keep it nice and clean after that. Your wisdom teeth will have nothing to do with bleeding at the front of your mouth
