It'll take some time, as the teeth roots are moving within the bone..... Just a pinch of salt water in warm water, swish it around and spit/rinse. ...... a couple of times a day. Take aspirin, tylenol or something to take the edge off the pain.

As far as the sore, something that worked well for me was Glyoxide - kind of like hydrogen peroxide, but for the mouth. It cleared up those sores pretty quick.

Good luck!

Sore Gums From Braces

Ouch! Yuk, braces, what an ordeal! I'd agree with your orthodontist about the salt water... on a normal sore you'd stick on some Neosporin and a bandaid, but you really can't do that with this one! But to help with the pain, you might try Ambisol or some other numbing oral medication... that will at least quell the pain a bit.

Well, i never had this problem, but the bit of gum between my two front teeth became a bit tender. My orthodontist said that if it hurts too much, he would have to surgically remove it. However, i did not get it removed and the worst sores i got weren't on my gums but on the inside of my cheeks.

Eyyyy girl. SAME PROBLEM. okay so, this is gonna sound so nerdy cause i know all about this. But anyways. That toothbrush that you just got a few days ago was too hard, you need really soft bristled brush or whatever. So, go to your orthodontist and they'll give you "BRACE RELIVER" ... IKNOW. i was like "woahhh what?" too! (if thats what ur thinkin) but anyways. you could try advil too. GOOD LUCK GIRLLL. oh i would like 10 points(:
