Vicodin helps, but sometimes is not enough to handle pain (yes you can take it with antibiotics.
For the best pain control (as long as you aren't allergic) you should take 4 tablets of advil (like prescription strength motrin) taken every 6 to 8 hours AND take 1 vicodin PLUS one regular tylenol (Vicodin has the equivalent of one tylenol in it. Who takes 1 tylenol for anything??) Seems like alot, but you'll be hammering at the pain in 3 different ways. You may only need to do this for 3 doses or so. Then you'll graduate off of the vico, then off the tylenol, and finally, you'll be able to space out the advil and/or cut it down to 400 mg.
When I have my patients do this, they come back so happy that the whole thing was so painless (I get them started on the advil while numb)
Good luck!

You can take the vicodin with your antibiotics. The vicodin should start to help in about 30 minutes. If it doesn't you might take the other half

this also depends on your body weight and whether you ate something or took it on an empty stomach. People's metabolism is different.
