we are trying (have been for a year) to get away from drinking milk. we love rice milk and soy milk. but i buy reg. milk because i like to bake. when i try to bake with the other stuff everything comes out dense. why? and what do you use to substitute milk in your baking?

The power went out all over our neighborhood and I couldn't cook my chicken that I had thawing in the sink. It stayed really cold, but I cant get a for sure answer on whether i can cook it or not. i started to marinate it, and if i find an answer i will cook (or not cook) it tonight... Oy. What do I do?

Bought a pressure cooker today. Was told by friend you can't put meat and vegatables in pressure cooker at same time. So tomorrow plan is to pressure cook chuck roast the last 1/2 hour before vegies are done in slow cooker. I think the tayste of vegies is quite bland. What can I add to vegatables? I can't have very much salt.....or should I pressure cook Vegies and slow cook meat? Either way what's to go into veg for tayste?
