Also, whats the effect of using vanilla esscence in chocolate chip cookies? The recipe says to use it, but I don't have any. Is it just for taste? Are there other alternatives?

Hi. Just my luck my grandma has me doing the turkey this year. And because we couldn’t find a big enough one, we're doing two 13 lb turkeys. I have to start cooking in about 2 hrs. So what should I do? The turkey isn't fully defrosted yet! The instructions direct the open pan method. I don't want to do that because I'm afraid it'll be too dry. So I need detailed instructions please- cooking tem. C, time, etc... I don't have a meet thermometer, so pleased don't suggest using one.

I also have to stuff it, but I usually just mix up something from onions, apples, walnuts, bread and spices... This time I want a real stuffing.

Also, I usually use a medical needle, and put whiskey into the fleshy parts? Is this necessary?

Thanks...

I am attempting to cook the bird with indirect heat by placing the coals and firewood on the opposit side while the heat and smoke cooks it on the other side of the grill. Will it work and for how long do I have to cook it?

I have to make deviled eggs every Christmas, everyone raves about my recipe. I have to make about 100, which means I have to peel 50 eggs. Sometimes the shell comes off super easy, other times it sticks and pull. Is there any iron-clad way of making sure the eggshell comes off with ease everytime?

Thanks..

My mom wants to cook or bake this spiral fully cooked ham. She does not how to do this, she has never "glazed" a ham nor have I. We don't know if we should glaze it or what. Don't know if this matters or not, but it does have a bone in it. So is there anybody out there that could help us with this. By the way, mom is 72, so I am not a kid either my self.
