i noticed that when you boil egg, and it cools off and u peel off the shell, u sometimes get it cleanly off the egg and at other times, it proves a little difficult as bits of the egg comes off with the shell... why is this so? and secondly, i'm wondering how i can get a smooth peel every time???

I need to make a "sweet snack" for my 4 year old daughters pre-school snack. Problem is her class starts at 7:45am, and they have snack at 8:30, I bit early in my opion for Halloween sweets, but never the less A friend of mine mentioned making white chocolate dipped pretzel rods for the kids & putting sprinkes on them. Do you think 4 year old will eat them & I know this is dumb, but how do I make them...I never have. Thanks

I'm looking for a recipe for chocolate chip cookies, but I
don't want any sugar, even in the chocolate chips. I would
vastly prefer stevia over artificial sweeteners.

Of course, I'm willing to make the chocolate chips from

i have the oven set on like 370 and it's been in for around an hour and a half. how long should it stay in? no foil or anything and i don't want to cut it open yet but i don't want to over cook it. it smells pretty good and looks like it's getting pretty golden.

I was going to make Italian Toscano soup, but it calls for Kale, and I couldn't find any. I did however find some lovely leeks, and I know I have heard of potato leek soup. Does anyone have a recipe for it that they have TRIED and LIKED???

Well, its finally cold tonight and I decided to make chile. well I went the easy route and bought the Bear Creek "Darn Good Chile". I bought 2lbs of ground round chile meat and the tomato paste. I was supposed to be good to go. well after getting home and following the directions, I noticed "add salt and pepper to taste. I had one crack of sea salt left, it wasnt near enough. The chile tasted like crap, with no salt and no way to leave the house (two 24oz beers ingested) how did I save the day???

I'm lookin' for books and sites that offer heatlhy dishes. However, i love food and am a culinarian, so don't give me rice cakes. I've been trying to look for authors that are not only health conscience but who also appreciate food and what it does to the palate.
