There are some excellent ideas here. Yay! I am always happy to see people thinking wholesome and healthy!

There are so many things you can do. My kids love cheese and crackers (just try to find crackers free of trans fat), peanut butter on graham crackers, carrot sticks with veggie dip, cinnamon tortillas (butter tortillas and sprinking with cinnamon and sugar-bake), apple banana nachos (whole wheat pitas cut into wedges, baked as the tortillas above, covered with melted peanut butter and topped with chopped apples and bananas). Buy some whole wheat bagels, top with pizza sauce and a bit of mozzarella cheese, broil.

Keep a carton of hardboiled eggs on hand. My kids love hardboild eggs and sometimes i make them into deviled eggs with they also love. Pick one day a week to bake ahead. This is what I do. I pick a day and make like apple sauce bread, mini muffins, and homemade cookies. That way we have them for the week. My kids are not allowed to eat prepackaged cookies or muffins so i have to make my own. I change it up every week, so we have some variety.

Keep it fun and yummy! AND HEALTHY!

One thing that I would do when I worked with toddlers is make "animals" out of apples, celery, peanut better, pretzel sticks, raisins, chex cereal, bananas, honey, etc. Like "ants on a log" (celery, peanut butter and raisins), ladybugs (half an apple, peanut butter, raisins, pretzel sticks) and the like. Kids enjoyed getting a bit messy helping to make their snacks, and it was much healthier than prepackaged snacks.
