Problem is her class starts at 7:45am, and they have snack at 8:30, I bit early in my opion for Halloween sweets, but never the less A friend of mine mentioned making white chocolate dipped pretzel rods for the kids & putting sprinkes on them. Do you think 4 year old will eat them & I know this is dumb, but how do I make them...I never have. Thanks

There's nothing "Stupid" about your Question.

Be most glad to help.

I think your daughter will love them and you could even give them to her to share with her pre-scool friends.

Here's a great, easy to make Recipe for you.

Gourmet Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Rods

10 ounces pretzel sticks (Pretzel RODS)
12 ounces milk chocolate chips (or melting disks)
1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
candy sprinkles (optional)
miniature M&M chocolate candies (optional)
mini Reese's pieces (optional)
chopped peanuts (optional)

1. Melt milk chocolate chips in double boiler or in microwave (be careful not to burn in the micro).
2. If you are using the white chocolate, wait until later before melting unless you can keep it over warm water.
3. Dip each pretzel rod about 2/3 of the way up in chocolate.
4. Lay on wax paper lined baking sheets, lining up the rods but leave a bit of space between them.
5. Allow to set a little, but not completely dry (while waiting, make sure your white chocolate is ready).
6. Dip a fork into the white chocolate and drizzle over the milk chocolate by gently swishing the fork back and forth over the rods but not touching them.
7. Place your sprinkles or candies on a paper plate and roll each pretzel rod in desired topping (or just sprinkle on).
8. Lay back on wax paper to set completely.
9. These look great displayed in, or given in, a unique glass or mug.

BON APPETIT!!!

All these recipes look yummy, but I'd like to make a suggestion...instead of using the regular pretzel rods (that are about 8 to 10 inches long) try to get the shorter pretzel rods (about 4 - 5 inches long) They won't break after the first bite, thereby having half of it land on the floor, and each child could have 2 or 3 - to a 4 year old more is definitely better!

Here's one more for you. Be sure and "Click" on the websites below to get an idea of how they will look. ENJOY & HAVE FUN !

Ingredients
1 package (12 ounces) chocolate or flavored chips (mint, white chocolate, butterscotch, peanut butter or combination)
24 pretzel rods

Assorted toppings: colored sprinkles, chopped nuts, small candies, toasted coconut, cookie crumbs, colored sugars (optional)

Microwave Directions

1. Line baking sheet with waxed paper; place wire rack on top. Place chocolate chips in microwavable bowl. (Be sure bowl and utensils are completely dry.) Microwave on HIGH 1 minute; stir. Microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until chocolate is melted and smooth.

2. Dip one half of each pretzel rod into melted chocolate; sprinkle with, or roll in, toppings. Drizzle some dipped pretzel rods with contrasting color or flavor of melted chips. (Drizzle melted chocolate from spoon while rotating pretzel, to get even coverage.)

3. Place decorated pretzels on prepared wire rack; let stand until set. Do not refrigerate.

Gift Idea To arrange a "bouquet" of pretzels, wrap the tops of the pretzels individually in cellophane and place them in a small vase wrapped with a bow. Or, spread a few inches of crinkled paper gift basket filler in the bottom of a smooth-sided 2-quart glass jar. Stand the pretzels dipped ends up in the jar and decorate the jar with fabric and ribbon.

Good question. When I was 4 and hungry, I probably would have! As for everyone else, I'm not sure. And you make a good point....8:30 is a bit early for that kind of snack. They need something to keep them going to lunch, or until they get home. You might as well make them. They're quite delicious though, if the kids don't eat them...send me some! :-)

Just melt the chips in the microwave and dip the pretzels in.

Put the chips in a bowl and nuke for 2 minutes, stir, then again for 30 seconds at a time, stirring until it's all melted.

ehhh I don't know... I know that Target sells stuff like that and they keep them on the shelf for about a month or so... and it shows in its flavor and appearance. I would probably make them a couple weeks before Christmas (if you have time). I don't think you would have to freeze them (bad things happen when you freeze chocolate lol). But if you really had to, you can make them now, and keep then in a VERY air-tight container (and maybe keep them in the fridge) until Christmas. They look delicious, good luck and have fun making them!
