It's been a while since I've been there, but they use to pile the ingredients on a bed of lettuce and topped it with French or russian dressing. I can't remember!!!! HELP!!!

TACO SALAD WITH FRENCH DRESSING

2/3 c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp. oil
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. French dressing (recipe follows)
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
2 tomatoes, cut into wedges
Optional additions:
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Doritos

FRENCH DRESSING:

3/4 c. oil
1/4 c. vinegar or lemon juice
1 tbsp. onion, minced
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/8 tsp. pepper

Mix French Dressing ingredients in a blender.
In a large skillet, over medium heat, fry onions and garlic in oil until tender. Add ground beef to pan and brown. Drain off excess fat; add tomato sauce, water, chili powder and salt. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

On a large serving platter, spread Doritos around the edge. Shred lettuce and mix with French dressing. Place lettuce in the center of the platter. Place meat mixture over lettuce and top with shredded cheese and tomato wedges.

Serves 4-6.
