Cooking & Recipes - October 2006

There are many respected american pressure canners (Presto, All American, Mirro) but none of the numerous retailers will ship to the UK.

In the UK all pressure cookers have been downsized to 3-7 litres, this is not large enough to preserve a few jars of produce or other food.

How do I obtain a pressure canner to help me do some home preserving?

Okay, so iv'e made a stew, enough for 2 or 3 days. Is it safe to heat it in a microwave as and when, over the next couple of days.

Would Chicken And Dumplings taste better if cooked in a crock pot? If so would you fix them the same way as you would on the stove? About how long would it take for them to be done? Has anyone ever tried this? If so let me know how they turned out.
