Great. This recipe has always turned out great.
* 4 chicken breast halves
* 2 cans chicken broth (3 1/2 cups)
* 1 cup water
* 3 cubes chicken bouillon or equivalent base or granules
* 1 small carrot, chopped
* 1 small rib celery, chopped
* 1/2 cup chopped onion
* 12 large flour tortillas
Combine all ingredients in slow cooker, except tortillas. Cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Take out chicken and remove meat from bones, then place broth on stove in large pot. Cut chicken into bite-size pieces and return to broth on stovetop.Bring to a slow boil.
Cut tortillas in half, then in 1-inch strips. Place strips into simmering broth and boil gently for 15 to 20 minutes, stir occasionally. Broth should thicken but if too thin, combine 1 tablespoon cornstarch with just enough water to dissolve and stir into broth. Cook 5 to 10 minutes more.

im not to much into using crock pots that much but as far as cooking everything but the dumplins i would say yes ....as when i make dumplins they have to be added when the liquid when it is at a rolling boil and should be served as soon as they are done ...i have a feeling cooking that long they would break apart or not be tender.......i made dumplins for 1 year at cracker barrells and i would say that is got to be the best ive have ever eaten.....but this is only my personal opion as many people feel they can use crockpots for every thing...i would cook everything and then take the liquid off put on stove then cook my dumplins that way..i think you would have better sucess.

Well, in a way. You can start them on the stove and put them in the crock pot to finish off.

The answers that you've gotten are great however..... if you take refrigerated biscuit dough and roll it real flat then cut it into squares with your pizza cutting knife, the dumplings won't be sooo doughy!
