I love that old recipe (I think it's from the 50s) where you put a roast in the crock pot, pour an envelope of Lipton soup mix, and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Cook about 7-8 hours on low. It's yummy!

I promise you that you have not had great chili until you have cooked it for 24hours in a crock pot!! Dice up the meat into 1/2" cubes ( use chuck roast, porak loin, and sweet italian sausage. Add your crushed tomatoes, onions and spices and a good octoberfest beer and let it roll for a day in the crock pot and your chili will be the talk of your party!!!

Apple butter! Fill crockpot to the top with peeled and sliced Northern Spies. Add three cups sugar, a tablespoonful of ground cinnamon and a quarter teaspoon of ground cloves and a half teaspoonful of salt. Cover, turn crockpot on low and allow to cook overnight. In the morning, put apple butter in sterilized canning jars and seal.
Use apple butter on toast, muffins, bagels. When roasting pork, spoon apple butter generously over pork about halfway through cooking. Do the same for baked chicken. When your family and friends taste that, you'll have to fight 'em off with a stick!

Carrots with Pumpkin cubes. It makes a good dessert. You do not even have to add sugar. The carrots are naturally sweet.
