I am browsing through the bridal catalog, and I saw this wedding veil by Tia Mazza or Reem Acra that said veil was
$4000. NOW, I know lace, and the veil is expensive and the work put into it, but is it really worth $4000?

Would you say they marked it up 200-300%?

You've got to book a place usually up to a year in advance. We know we'll be getting engaged (when my boyfriend returns from a 4 month trip for work). He's concerned that it's bad luck to book the site before the engagement but he agrees to Sept 08. Is it bad luck?

O.K. Folks a divorce party is much much cheaper than a wedding, right.

A wedding costs at least $45K today here in Los Angeles.
A Divorce party costs around $700 $1000 if you are having a full sit down dinner for 30 people with drinks, hours durves.

Why don't people plan divorce ahead of time, to save money, and to be cautious and wise.

Most of my friends are divorced, and that percentage about 50% of marriages ending in divorce is not accurate!!! IT'S MORE LIKE 70% ARE GETTING DIVORCED!!

I recently got engaged and we finally set a date of may 3rd , My finace had to go out to a family affair out of state and I am setting up arrangments for our wedding while he is gone reception hall , church ...etc.

When I get a phone call last night he is telling me that his, mothers god son, is also engaged and they have the exact same wedding date as I chose.

well now his Mother wants me to move MY wedding date with her REAL son , so it will accomidate her ( GOD SON) wedding date .

My fiance and I have a special thing with the number 3 ... now if I move the date earlier to a weekend the wedding will be moved up two months ... and that doesn't give me time to plan for my wedding ... if I move the wedding forward it would be 3 months from the original date set making it 9 months till we could get married ....

the god sons wedding is in Chicago where my fiance family is , our wedding is to be out of state...

what the hell do i do about this ?

Here's an interesting dilemma. My brother is getting married and he is the first one out of all of us (3 kids). My mom is very social and gave him a 60 person guest-list of people she wants invited- everyone who lives on our country block, associates from work, distant relatives etc. She offered to pay extra but they don't want the money.

My brother and his fiancee want their wedding to be small and intimate and not "Hi I'm Geoff- this is my wedding- who are you?"... Is this unreasonable? If they only have 100 other guests between her family and friends and my family and my brother's friends- how many extra guests is my mom reasonable to ask for?

Any opinions would be appreciated- I think my mom feels she was invited to these people's wedding and their children's weddings- so she HAS to invite them to my brother's wedding.

my fiance and i last night decided to toss out about 80% of our plans, and revamp our entire wedding. We're both stars and moon fanatics, and have decided to go with a dark blue and silver themed celestial wedding. (i had initally planned on using wine colors...but that wasn't really us and I wasn't over thrilled with it)

i was so excited i stayed up practically all night figuring a lot of things out. Right now though I'm stuck on two things.

Flowers, (i was going to use lillies before..but wondering what I could use now or what would look best)

and I'm also stuck on Centerpieces.

Any suggestions?

My mother in law & her fiance are getting married next month. It is a second wedding for both the bride and groom and they are an older couple. What should my husband and I get them that isn't too cheesy? We were thinking of signing them up for a wine club, and that way they would recieve 2 bottles of wine each month for a year. Good idea? Just looking for some extra ideas thanks!

My father during my wedding referred to my new wife using my ex girlfriends name. I believe he did this on purpose as he was very fond of m ex (who was also at my wedding with her fiance). He also started his speech with a few hanging Jokes(Jokes about being hung by the neck till dead) I was humilated and feel very angry. He is a lifelong drunk who refuses to take the blame or any responsibility for his screw-ups. We haven't spoken since. But I stay awake at night seething. What should I do?

five years, and no proposal. we talk about getting married a lot. he talks about it a lot. i don't nag him about it b/c i think that would just become annoying and push him away. is five years a pretty long time to be together and not get engaged?

What do you think of this? I attended a wedding this summer where the older bride (with three adult children) wore a traditional, princess-type, white, wedding gown with tiara. I was shocked! Did I have the correct reaction?

his friend made it clear that he wants strippers and his fiance told me she doesn't care. my issue is, i don't want my husband there! without stepping on others' toes, i don't believe in stripping. i find it degrading. i told my husband i would strip for him (i'm ok with that haha). this bothers me....i don't know what to do.

am i right for not wanting him to go?

i saw this dress in a magazine about 10 years ago. i will never forget the dress. it was absolutly beautiful and i want to find. i looked everywhere. its very hard to describe so here it goes. the top half was kinda like a corset type and the straps looked like they draped off the shoulder, it had smaller flowers on the straps.it was long sleeved but the sleeves were see thorough. the bottom half was full and it looked layerd. thats about the best way i can describe it so if anyone could help that would be awsome.
