I am browsing through the bridal catalog, and I saw this wedding veil by Tia Mazza or Reem Acra that said veil was
$4000. NOW, I know lace, and the veil is expensive and the work put into it, but is it really worth $4000?

Would you say they marked it up 200-300%?

Mender, thanks and appreciate it. All comments are welcome. I was asking If anyone is nuts to buy this type of veil, unless $$$ is free out.

It has no jewels or crystals in it., just lace appliques.

Damn, that designer must really think her stuff is worth a LOT! No way is it worth that! Imagine what they charge for a dress, LOL!

Wedding vendors are ridiculous aren't they? I know of a chapel to rent in Hawaii that costs $4000. Think about how long wedding ceremonies last. Maybe 25 minutes? Anyway... Is the veil beautiful? Yes. Is it absolutely worth the money? No. If you research online and in bridal stores, you can probably find something very similar for a much more reasonable cost.

I didnt spend 4000 on my entire weddng let alone on my veil. I actually made my veil from same lace I found at a fabric store. And my veil and whole wedding was beautiful. I would never pay that much for a piece of fabric. You would be buying the barnd name not the product.

I would say that $4000 will probably be more than the ENTIRE budget for my wedding. I knwo it's a special day... but you are going to wear it ONCE and then... put it in a box? Seriously...

If you can afford it, power to you. I'm sure there is beautiful lace avalible for less.

Umm, YEAH!!! You should be spending that much on the wedding dress, which, after all, is the main attraction of your ensemble.
To a celebrity, it might be worth $4,000, but I'd rather focus on the dress and then the veil.

. . . That is, if YOU'RE the one having the wedding.

Too many people spend way too much on their weddings only to end up divorced and in debt not too long after. I have a cousin that had a wedding that cost over $250,000. Absolutely insane! My wedding cost $25.00 for the judge and $60.00 for each ring, a total of $145.00. We've been married for almost 29 years.

Wow. That amount is really extravagant.

Even for people who can easily afford that price, I still think it's obscene. With all the people starving in the world, and homeless people, and so on, I couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a piece of lace (even a REALLY nice piece of lace).

Yes that is crazy sorry that is way too much to pay for a veil. Surely you can find one just as nice for much cheaper. I have seen nice ones for a few hundred. Try David's Bridal they have some nice ones.

Yes you're nuts if you're considering it. You could buy a pretty nice used car for that. The lace is maybe worth $50.

omg that is just ridiculous...it's just as bad as my friend who spent $1000 per metre on material to get a dress made...but in the end she didn't even use it...i couldn't care how much money i have, i would not even think about spending more than $50 on a veil....if i was offered to buy that...i would tell them where to shove it....that's 80x's more than what a veil should cost

i don't know about markup - but did it by chance have real pearls or diamonds in it? that's a BIG thing right now - having the real stuff not rhinestones..but real stones are obviously make the price go WAY up.

BTW - sorry so many people on here are assuming you want to buy this veil and giving you a hard time about it. apparently they didn't read the rest of your comments.
