O.K. Folks a divorce party is much much cheaper than a wedding, right.

A wedding costs at least $45K today here in Los Angeles.
A Divorce party costs around $700 $1000 if you are having a full sit down dinner for 30 people with drinks, hours durves.

Why don't people plan divorce ahead of time, to save money, and to be cautious and wise.

Most of my friends are divorced, and that percentage about 50% of marriages ending in divorce is not accurate!!! IT'S MORE LIKE 70% ARE GETTING DIVORCED!!

Do any of you get it? There are people being divorced 1,2, or even 3 TIMES. Look, it's better to save money for the divorce party, instead of the wedding. I am being real here as many don't take their vows seriously.

Unfortunately most people are planning for divorce (or just plain breakups in general) before they ever get together with someone.

Unlike many of our parents, grandparents, etc., marriage does not hold the same bond between two people that it once did, nor does divorce have the same stigma. And this has it's upsides and it's downsides.

As a plus, people are less likely to suffer through years of physical and mental abuse for the sake of staying married. As a negative, people are also a lot less tolerant of their differences because divorce is "no big deal."

The end result, you have a lot of people who get married without thinking who have the simple idea that "hey if it doesn't work out, I'll just get a divorce, what's the harm".

In the mean time between marriage and divorce you've entertwined a large portion of yourselves, your assets, your finances. Not to mention the dog and two kids that get put in the middle.

Not that I exactly advocate staying married for no other reason than to stay married, more so I am a proponent of intelligent marriage. Where marriage is treated with the respect that it deserves, and is entered into with forethought and wisdom. And most importantly, not as a drunken experience in Las Vegas between two people who don't know each other's names.

But to answer you're exact question, that's what a pre-nuptial agreement is for. Figure out the divorce prior to the marriage. AKA Why you should kill me before you even think about divorcing me . . . .

No. You may get married when your lawyer tells you the divorce is final and the papers are in the mail. If you chose to ignore this then you will be charged and it is a heavy fine. You are not allowed to have two husbands at the same time. Few get away with it for long and when it is discovered you are still in trouble with the law and your second marriage is null and void.

Why not have a funeral party because someday you'll pass away? Everyone can eat and listen to a eulogy. It'll be great. Divorce is not a cause for celebration... Odd how times have changed...

Even if your stats are accurate, it doesn't mean marriage isn't worth it. It's like giving up on life, just because you know someday you will die.

Why spend money on either if you already know it will end. Just date and make sure they pay half the bills.
