i saw this dress in a magazine about 10 years ago. i will never forget the dress. it was absolutly beautiful and i want to find. i looked everywhere. its very hard to describe so here it goes. the top half was kinda like a corset type and the straps looked like they draped off the shoulder, it had smaller flowers on the straps.it was long sleeved but the sleeves were see thorough. the bottom half was full and it looked layerd. thats about the best way i can describe it so if anyone could help that would be awsome.

I would suggest you look throu all the gowns on the various sites - start with this one - http://www.bridalchalet.com/home/index.html and see if you can't find something similar - if you can, the you should be able to get a seamstress to later it into what you want.

The only 2 ideas I have would be to visit either www.brides.com and look through as many designers as possible, same with www.theknot.com.

If it was that long ago, odds are pretty good it's no longer in production. The best suggestion would be to draw it out as best you can and take it to a very good seamstress and see if they can duplicate it for you. Here's a good place to start if you can use the dress on the right in this drawing as a basis: http://www.mccallpattern.com/item/M5003.htm?tab=evening_prom_bridal&page=2

Good Luck!

I have not seen it but you should go to a well known gown shop like Davids Bridle or something and explain it to them. They will have dresses and pictures that you will be able to compare to and give a better idea on what exactly it looks like it. When you go to those places, they will try to do anything to find you the dress of your dreams(it there job). And if they cant find it maybe they could make it.

Have you gone to a bridal shop yet? There may be some that have an archive of sorts of wedding gowns (photos, magazines, etc) that you may be able to find something close if not 'the one'.

Good luck & Congrats

Hi Shirley:

Well, if it was 10 years ago, there is no way to find it now. What you can do, though, is go to any bridal store and speak with them....maybe there is something similar now.

OR.....look on Ebay. There are lots of lovely "vintage" (and yes, 10 years ago would be vintage) gowns and they are really cheap! Good luck in your search!

10 years ago, I doubt they make the dress anymore. Styles change. I think you should spend an afternoon in the library searching the old magazines for a picture. Photocopy it and take it to someone who can custom make it for you.

have to agree with answer to go to ddavids bridal store. Went with a friend before and even if can't find exact dress they sure have huge selection and do adds on or take off's whatever but after you find a dress and my friend found one i think for 600 and snuck across border did not declare. Not something i would do. When something is a big deal like risking your car taken away I report it.i thought she was nuts for doing even ruffled it up a bit to look like was luggage and yes she did drugs. I was thinking she took out of packaging ruffled it up in a ball risking getting dirty to save what 30 dolllars duty.I think she tried to hide undersomething but was dumb glad i didn't go to wedding it was at a filthy place that had a reputaion of rats running around i was told by someone and can't think of name because wann't even at a reception but a old bar location for dances for minors and didn't even have parking.Did have same location and place to get married in a room very old and all navy blue carpeting just can't think of the name but was a dive. She was cheap and her fiance was an athiest literally not only him but whole family saying pick anywhere but a church but he forgot to say but with class but apparently if not seeking marriage with faith there is no class to begin with so i guess i don't matter where you get married and true story for these people.

If you remeber what magazine it was you can search their website or contact them and they can pull a picture from their archives...it is probably no longer available but you could have it made

I suggest going trough ebay and see if you can find it vintage or second hand. That's last century style.
