My mom and I were talking about weddings and for some reason this came up. She was telling me that when one of my aunts was getting married she bought her wedding dress, left it at the store for alterations or something, but when she came to pick it up she noticed someone was trying it on. She's very vocal and made it known she was mad. How would you feel if that was your dress?

I don't know what flowers would be good for a May wedding. For all of you who have given me advice on my other wedding questions, we postponed the wedding to May so we can save up more and have more options, and so my fiance can save enough to get moved into an apartment so we don't come home to my sister's house!

My friend is 27, has completed her M.Sc. with a pleasant personality. She has been engaged for 1 year and the date of wedding is decided to be within next few months. She says that she is not interested in getting married. there is no strong reason sometimes she says that her fiancy is not good looking or some times she argues that she do not want to take responsibilities after getting married or object the age difference (he is 35) or says that she want to do job and have want to have a better carrer. we are not clear that what is the actual reason. and according to our opinion it was a good proposal, well educated, nice family , normal looks of the person (not ugly). her parents say that they cannot wait now as she is already 27 furthermore they think that it will be a perfect match for her. any one suggest what is the reason that she behave so and what should we do.

The engagement ring is 1/3 karat white gold. its about $1,000 and the wedding band is $1,000 and that includes sodering them together, cleaning for a lifetime and if the diamond gets chipped or anything they will fix it all for free. but everyone keeps telling me that its to much but my thing is I have to wear it for the rest of my life....and he is buying it so I don't really have a choice if he gets it then I'll wear it. Please tell me that I'm right....and what ur opinion is, but please keep it clean...

In my past posts I felt that weddings were very expensive and over the top but I think why God and people celebrate weddings is to introduce the couple into the threshold of husband and wife.

The wedding is for one day the marriage is for the rest of your life. Marraige is hard and how you feel at the altar is not how a person feels 10 years into the relationship feeling taking for granted and not appreciate I have been there

Being I said all this do you view weddings as a party, a sacred ceremony, or a spirirtual connection bewteen the couple and God? Do you regret having or not having a wedding?

My mother in law is my minister and she is letting me have some say in what is said at the ceremony. I am looking for an alternative to "Who gives this woman away?". My dad has said that he refuses to "give me away". So what else can be said that somewhat implies that without actually saying it??

I'd been waiting for this day forever! It was perfect, and I wasn't expecting it so it made it a lovely surprise..

But now I just feel a bit overwhelmed at it all, and I'm starting to doubt that I'm really ready for this and I am scared.. =/

In the pic bride was wearing this cowboay sleeveless dress, and cowboy boots. Dress was white. Groom wore a tuxido with cowboy boots. Everyone was outside. From the answers I previously received, I sadly understand that my color choices may be too contrasting for a wedding. What if I paired a lt. blue w/a darker purple or maroon?

Ok, I have a general question that I am really not sure about and need some help with.

I am looking at proposing to my girlfriend that I have been dating for the last 6 1/2 years. My question is, do I need to ask my girlfriends mom to help shop for the engagement ring? Sorry this might seem like a stupid question but I do want to be traditional about it.

Ok, getting married next October and we have a budget now for our wedding. My fiance and I are going to assume that my mother isn't going to help us pay for it (mainly bc she's getting divorced and works just enough to pay for bills and then some), but my gparents (on both sides) are going to help pay for some (mainly bc they've got money coming out their ears, lol). How do I go about asking who's going to help pay and what for? Should I let them bring it up? We aren't formally engaged, but he's going to propose this year. We decided to go ahead and start planning, so we're not so stressed and he'll propose this year. Any ideas/suggestions/help on how to go about asking that question is helpful!! Thanks a million!!

I just wanna see and the wacy zany and unique ideas others have/had!

My totally awesome unique crazy idea is......everyone in the bridal parties to be drssed up in drit bike gear.....with bikes!
Hubby will be waiting at the alter on his bike...I'll be in some what a gown/dirtbike gear...will ride up to him....stop and sit on my bike...do the vows...and then hop on his bike...and ride away into the sunset...then quick changes in to reg. clothes and party like a rock star!! Perfect wedding out in the country with the people that matter most!! AWESOME!

More details in the works but that's all for now!

My husband and me are very happily married, and very committed to each other and our children.Our wedding day was really special, but we've been talking about having a re-commitment ceremony on our 10th wedding
anniversary. We never got the chance to go on a honeymoon, because of time, money and his family visiting. I need opinions here:

1: Should we have a formal re-commitment ceremony (in church with all of the trimmings ), buy new rings, and go on a short trip just him and me without the kids (no longer then 4 days at a bed and breakfast )?

2: Should we have the formal ceremony, and take the kids with us on a 4 day trip?

3: Should we go on a 7-10 day FIRST honeymoon, without the kids, and buy new wedding rings?

4: Should we go on the 7-10 day FIRST honeymoon with the kids,and NOT buy new rings?
